LAM09 7,062
I thought you were trying to be funny?Nope. I get your point that he was young and it was harder for him to take his chance, but players younger/similar age have succeed in similar situations. It's all down to the player and how he approaches and equips himself.

Matic and Costa were relatively late bloomers. Matic even left Chelsea once to go to a smaller club.

Vela was at a club that is known for giving youth a chance, but it just didn't work out. Hopefully, he'll have a good Gold Cup for himself and the country. iseah100
nadavTKL 1,787
Kind a interesting that Atletico are about to get Jackson Martinez when Simeone talks about Vietto as if he was his player already.I cant believe one of them will be used as a back up, and i also cant believe Griezmann is going to play as the RM/LM for Simeone (where Koke and Turan playing). Vietto is not ready to perform on a weekly basis yet. He wasn't even a weekly starter for Villarreal.

Unionjack 7,531
We are SUPPOSEDLY not even interested in Griezmann. But with the way our transfer season is looking like so far I hope thats a load of tosh.

Koke probably staying put so there's choice between Turan and Griezmann. I still think that will be Griezmann but we have to wait. PSG are emerging as strong contender to get him. LondonsFinest 692
So they are signing 2 strikers, have Correa and Torres and Griezmann tweeted a pic with a title: Guess the destination. Something is fishy.

For the right offer that is. €30-35 mil + Luis would mean a quality LB + extra cash to spend on top of the money from the sales of Mandzukic, Miranda and Alderweireld (€40-45 mil). Oliver Torres returning, and Correa possibly eligible to play next season, supposed to be a very big talent, adds depth to the squad. Same goes Velasquez. Not sure though, as they have that rule of only 3 non-EU players allowed in the squad. But I also understand Simeone wanting some regularity in his team. Selling both Mandzukic and Griezmann would mean yet another new striker duo. It all depends on his plans for next season. He might make tweaks to his team as he's been using similar tactics for three years. Atletico are in a very good position to grow and they're no longer underdogs. Like Simeone said, only three teams are significantly stronger than Atletico.

LondonsFinest 692
He's going on holiday. London isn't a bad destination. lol In all seriousness, the picture is nothing. What baffles me is:1. Simeone said only Koke and Godin are irreplaceable and are not for sale. Direct pun at Griezmann and Mandzukis2. Vietto - quite similar, from what I hear in terms of play. SS and AMC/Enganche. 3. Martinez - they've sold Mandzukic, but it's not like they will get 50 million to pay both Vietto and Martinez. They don't have THAT much money, they've said it themselves.4. Other strikers - Torres and Correa are still there and Miranda is leaving. Correa, Jackson, Vietto will fill their FGN quota. 5. Contract extension - Griezmann is yet to sign a new deal, which was what Atleti were trying to do, before reports of a deal being accepted. All these are far too many coincidences. I doubt Griezmann, Correa and Vietto will share minutes. If Arda leaves he can move to LW, but as far as I know, that won't happen. Something is going on. It's too quiet. haha
