Roman is hardly known for his sentiment so i can guarentee you he is annoyed with the performaces and will be looking to a replacement if things don't drastically improve in the next month...

Fans have been singing this guy's name for absolutely no reason for almost 2 years. They desperately wanted him to succeed and even the media were bewildered by the support Chelsea fans have shown to this damaged good.

Torres gets the most support at the bridge. When he does something good we all chant TORRES!, even if it is like a good pass or getting round 1 player, in the hope his confidence will be boosted. My attitude to torres, has been based on a year and a half of hoping with pretty much nothing coming back. He can only give 100% but it is one of the most frustrating things to watch.

Also, whenever anyone wears our shirt i will support them, but that doesn't mean i cant hope that we put him on the bench for a few games and play sturridge (if he is fit) as it will be more beneficial to the team.

It's striking how little benefit Torres is getting from all the effort he's putting in his games.

IMO if there is one thing you cannot blame him... it must be his working attitude. He might get a lot of cash, but at least he runs his brains out every game.

It's just sooo strange how such a talented player is getting so little result from all his actions. Probably the only key to this problems is: Confidence!

Nevertheless I think he's given way too much credit (probably by the business man in Roman => hard to blame him... a 50million pounds investment needs to bring something in return!). Torres is benching Sturridge, Moses(more or less), Piazon & Lukaku (last season). I think it's more than fair to give these guys their chances as well!

Too true.

Torres gets applauded for doing very basic things. The expectations of him are so low that if he does things that you'd expect of any other striker, the crowd are overjoyed.

The crowd wants him to succeed and if that means applauding him when he manages to control a ball and lay it off, they'll do that.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic, but I would definitely rather have Bosingwa at RB than Torres up front. Hell I'd almost rather have Bosingwa as our striker instead of Torres.

Btw on topic of being fair to Torres, I bet the same people who feel Torres is being treated unfairly bashed Malouda for being shit. It's a shame that Malouda has to train with U21s because hes deemed not good enough while Torres is given the start every week despite being worse than Malouda has ever been

We praise him when he has a shot, Or does a little pass. For a £50million striker, We should be praising him for bagging a hatrick or winning us the game. Not a simple pass which Ross Turnbull could probably play. I understand its motivating, and likely to help him. But its all we seem to do.
