A deserved loss. Not RDM's fault. There was no lineup or formation he could have used that would have got us the win. There was no substitution that was going to win the game for us. Juventus are simply a better side. Really sick of the hypocrisy of fans. RDM gets blamed for not changing the lineup. He changes. He gets blamed for that. You want us to develop our own players better? You want us to switch to a new, more exciting system? Those take years. You can't be mad when you have short-term problems. You mad at Chelsea wasting 50M pounds on a striker who was never going to fit into our system? Let's do that again with Falcao! The club is the place it's in because of short-term thinking. We've had 8 managers (7 really) in the last 5+ years. You don't have prolonged success when you keep blaming managers every time you go on a bad streak. The lack of patience is ridiculous. The blame for the current situation sits entirely with the board. Chelsea have spent more money than any other team in the last decade and almost none of it has been decent value. We keep chasing the sexy players that everyone else wants. We buy players at the peak of their value. We've spent something like 140M in the past 2 seasons and somehow we still have no true central midfielder for our system and we have mediocre central defenders, we have only one striker, and very little natural width. You can't just throw a bunch of players together and then complain when you don't win immediately.

The hypocrisy around here can drive a guy mad, but let's look at it objectively. Its not an over-reaction to say that TODAY DiMatteo screwed up badly. Yes, dropping Torres was what most of us wanted but when the alternative was to play without a proper forward (due to Sturridge's injury) , then I'm not sure it was wise to use that formation. I think the truth is that RDM was furious (deservedly so) after the recent run of games and overcompensated for our shortcomings in defense.

No, Juventus is not back. You won because we are fucking awful team.

Anyways, you'll get hammered soon in the knock out phase...

you sound like a bad loser ....and the group isnt finished yet.

IF they go through and we don't good luck to them

Being the first reigning Champions to get knocked out of the group stage, is something that will haunt us forever as a football club.

A permanent black mark.

Well at least we were reigning champions... And tbh who exactly will remember or care. If you don't win it they won't really remember you. You offered me this 82 mins into the game on the 19th may i would have snapped your hand off and been so happy it was unbeleiveable. :D

"Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing and expecting a different result."

After recent results I can't blame RdM for trying something new - I personally feel we would have lost this game whatever lineup he tried because we cannot address the problems with defenders being exposed and attackers not finishing off their chances.

I think a lot of it stems from over use of Hazard and Mata which is degenerating their effectiveness. A lot of people have been spoiled by Lampards longevity and consistency they expect flair players to also be able to play 90 minutes every game with the same effect. Just recall Robben and how often he was out of the side due to injuries - the way especially Hazard plays takes a great toll on his body. Especially today as the match went on Mata and Hazard were not able to keep up the press and trickery. Marin; Moses need to be rotated with those two with greater effect if we want to use them in their most devastating form in matches like the ones against Juve.

We need a striker and we need JT back. JT gives us SOOOOO much in defence and in captaincy that he is crucial for us. And a striker because hazard is not a striker and torres isn't really either. I applaud what RDM tried it didn't work The alternative was playing torres up top which i am 95% confident wouldn't have worked either. Maybe moses from the start up top as we kept lashing the ball down field and chiellini chested it down 4 times in a row. But oscar looked great in spells, and hazard and mata should have scored. But hey that is the situation we are in.

Shakhtar are a quality team as we know and at home they won't be thinking it is a nothing game as will want the best draw going. We have to go out get the job done vs nordjaelland and hope that shakhtar can knick the points for us. I am going to the chelsea game but my mind will probably be in ukraine.

Well I don't like them and I most certainly won't wish them good luck.

But unrelated to that, they are not on the level as Bayern, Barca, Real, Dortmund or even Shakhtar.

I believe they will get knocked out soon enough.

not gonna lie was legit truly upset with this match. We bench torres, wow, how long did it take before that sink in that torres is shit. but not only that, its that the day he decides to drop torres guess what Studge is injured/not picked! go fucking figure! i hope its just our novermber curse or whaever becasue its becoming truly frustrating seeing us not rebound from negative results, or at least showing signs of a comeback during a game in which we are losing. I mean we go down, or if the opposition draw late on in a game and you can bet your life's savings that the most we're coming out with is a draw MAX, never ever a win.

havent kept clean sheet in what 9 games now, prob cause of JT's absence but at this stage in JT's career we should be lessening our reliance on him. at this rate we'll be saying when JT is 35 "oh man we really missed JT out there in defense". and you know what its not just the occasional game we look bad or make costly costly errors, its EVERY fucking game. defense and striker(s) (more like one in RDM's eyes becuz he only chooses one every game)

but what most of all ticked me off, is that Juve come here to fucking Stamford Bridge they drew 2-2 after being down by 2 goals............we go there and get humiliated 3-0. that above ALL ELSE is what got to me. and that right their is the difference between Champs and Europa league contenders.

Its not the flair players but the lack of players we have to convert what they created. Oscar laid one on a plate to hazard, hazard did one similar to mata etc. We want them 3 to be interchanging a bit deeper with a true striker up front which we don't have. Yes our "flair" players had a bad game but that is not the underlying problem.
