They seem to forget all the decisons they get........last year they got some dodgy ones! Dodgy at their place then Rooney for catching the back Ivan of something and getting a pen for it

Its always nice to see a game and the game itself is the talking point after..not the sodding ref! And annoying so its always the same ones

The 2 penalties at The Bridge last season were a f**king disgrace! Cheers Howard Webb!

There's so much work to do with David Luiz. I don't like his ability to read the game, not to mention poor man marking. He wanders out to half heartedly defend a cross, one which Cole would have closed down and blocked, that led to RVP's goal. He tries to dispossess players like Rooney and fails, then leaving the remaining defenders out numbered and sitting ducks. David Luiz has his moments of brilliance but if he's going to follow in the footsteps of Terry and be the leader he says he's capable of being, he's got to improve vastly if this defense is going to get better. Cole and Ivanovic will do the job as will Cahill but Luiz needs to reproduce the form he showed in Munich.

I understand where you're coming from but he was our best defender tonight. The other 3 were even worse.

On a serious note though, how much effort would it take, for them to give the goal, then RDM wants to challenge the decision. The ref runs 20 yards looks at a screen. If there is clear reason to overturn the ruling then he does. All of a sudden 60% of these issues would be good and we can enjoy the football and talk about the teams and the game as opposed to how we were fucked over.

Cancel that, he has a fucking earpiece. The 4th official can have a little screen with him, and then shout, no goal it was offside. Correct decision made, it would take 10 seconds.

Ashley Cole was our biggest liability at the back. Like every game Valencia is up against him, he rips him to shreds. However the Carling Cup is received by people, perfect chance for revenge against Referee United. Today got me go angry, still fuming over it. Not just the red cards but the fact that there winner was an offside goal. Bunch of cheats.

This fucking Clattenburg thing compounds to the anger - everytime we are flying something derails us, every time, every season!

If it wasn't bad enough the fall out from the Terry race row, we've now been screwed over against one of our biggest rivals for the title and a new row has erupted which will no doubt drag on and allow the media to create another frenzy around the club to try and distract us.

No doubt the FA will find Clattenburg innocent and the media will burn Chelsea about lying.

Yeah, I mean there is an inevitable break in play when they score, by the time we kick off again the ref can easily confirm the offside. Calls like those are just ruining the match because not only are they unfair on the team but also on the linesmen. That was an incredibly tough call to make. The refs are already under so much pressure, last thing they want is to make decisions that they have no clues about.

Yeah exactly. The pressure on the refs would be reduced. I am not saying they should review fouls and even bookings etc, as that could ruin the gameflow which we don't want, but just reviewing goals, it takes at least 30 seconds from the goal to resetting the ball and kicking off again. Plenty of time to see if there is a clear reason why the decision should be overturned or not.

Does anyone else find it hard to believe a referee racially abused a player? I really do. I can understand incompetence and bias (not that i'm saying that's ok), but not that.

The Mail are saying he called Mata a 'Spanish twat' and Mikel was the other player in question, i'm sure we'll find out the words Clattenburg used in due course.

What an embarrassing day for the FA and English football.

In rugby or rugby league, nearly every try goes up stairs. Football is so far behind its sickening..

BUT WE CAN'T RUIN THE BEAUTIFUL GAME BLAHH BLAHH BLAHH

How retarded is that linesman? There had to be a player in the goal for Pea face to be onside. There wasn't.

Chelsea made a complaint to the Premier League after Mikel stormed into the referee's room to demand an apology after claiming Clattenburg made a racist slur when he booked the midfielder in the 76th minute.

Juan Mata is also involved after Chelsea players claim they heard Clattenburg, one of FIFA’s top officials, refer to the midfielder as ‘a Spanish twat’.

I find it hard to believe also, but I don't believe the Chelsea players would lie about something as serious as this given what has happened recently over Terry. Apparently a number of Chelsea players heard both the comments on Mata and Mikel and are willing to give statements to back it up. Sounds pretty iron clad to me. I really hope if that is the case that he's sacked from the referee's list, it shows incredible bias towards a team if he is making comments such as that to players on one team.
