Oscar

Amen.

Last year when City did the double, they had 4 players score 20+ goals. Aguero, Yaya Toure, Negredo and Eden Dzeko.

We need more finisher in our squad, i don't see how people can't see that. Because after Costa and Remy, nobody else in our squad is lethal enough in front of goal.

Hazard and Oscar are our only Midfield threats to score (which is why i'm not as harsh on Oscar as other are, becuase at least he directy affects matches by scoring goals, crucial ones at that too, as most are the opening goals in a match.

Indeed. Oscar really needs to do better. More of this from him.

(Great play from Willian, more of that from him as well)

Whenever i see an Oscar vs Willian argument, i think to myself why does it even matter neither have shown to be good enough. Neither player have justified a guaranteed role in the starting XI. Hopefully next season they both canalize each other minutes, so we don't see both in the starting XI. Best case scenero when one is off form the other plays well.

It would be interesting to see if Willian is so much better in the middle like some have claimed, and also if Oscar will finally have a breakout season with full summer rest.

I doubt neither of them will deliver for us on a regular basis.

Arda is a bit of a different case I suppose, but Sterling has plenty of time to discover his goal scoring touch. As a winger he hasn't quite managed to excel in this area, but neither has Hazard yet. They've both still got time to learn to get into these opportunities and start doing them on a consistent basis.

Sterling scores goals, that is the thing. He can work on his finishing but Sterling is a much more capable scorer than Arda. Arda only got 3 goals last season in all competitions (2 in the league) and the season they won the league he scored 9 (3 in the league). Sterling in a poor team got 11 goals last season (7 in the league). The season before he got 10 goals (9 league goals) despite only getting into the team late December. There is a difference. If you got 9 league goals from a player you would be quite happy with that. Especially at the age of 19. Like I said, Sterling can improve on his finishing like Hazard but Hazard and Sterling are much more goal scoring threats than Arda Turan is.

I think Sterling will end up at City and he will be playing in a much better team. I think he will score a lot of goals down there. Considering how well he done when he had Suarez, Sturridge and Coutinho around him, with the likes of Silva, Aguero, Toure and possibly more quality additions, I think his game will go up another level.

Old fashioned logic. That's the same as saying offensive players don't need to defend or fullbacks only have to defend their direct opponent. Barca would never have bought Neymar and Suarez if that was the case. Those players replaced Pedro and Sanchez to great effect.

The main or biggest difference between Chelsea and the big three is the fact that they have 3 players in their team who can score goals (and/or assist) for you at any time. Bayern with Lewa, Robben and Muller (Ribery and Gotze even chip in with their fair share). Real with Cristiano, Benzema and Bale (James with a strong output as well). Try your hardest to take out one threat, and others step up and benefit from the extra space granted to them. You'll never be capable of taking out all three, except once in a blue moon (extreme bus parking doesn't count).

Not all players have to score 20+ but you do need goals and assists from your attacking players. Remember 09/10?

Drogba - 37 goals and 11 assists

Lampard - 27 goals and 16 assists

Malouda - 15 goals and 13 assists

Anelka - 15 goals and 7 assists

Kalou - 12 goals and 3 assists (Kalou!!)

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong I do agree that a team challenging for titles and trophies should have goals from all over the pitch. I was merely trying to state that in regards to the whole Arda/Sterling debate that sometimes it is okay that maybe sometimes a player doesn't contribute that many goals if the overall play compensates for others picking up the goals.

Hazard, hopefully, will be more decisive and clinical in front of goal. He's discussed that as a personal goal and so hopefully we'll actually see a good return from him, Costa, Falcao etc.

That is way too much IMO..

I want him to stay anyway, but if we actually manage to get 40M and we have someone to spend it on then by all means go for it.

Mourinho could be ready to sacrifice Oscar who is also a target for #Juventus but so far they are miles apart on the price. (Mirror) #CFC

#Juventus are only offering £12m for Oscar which would also only be after a 1 year loan spell with a fixed option to buy. (Mirror) #CFC

Juventus will have to pay around £42 million if they want to land Oscar from Chelsea. (Eurosport) #CFC #Juventus

Funny how the people who have been calling him shit for forever now think he's worth a fortune. Well, make up your mind! Which is it?! LOL

Anyway, all those stories are very clearly fake. We're not selling Oscar this summer, it's just not happening and Juve know that now. They just spent 18m on Zaza so if they were bidding for Oscar they certainly would have made a much higher bid than 12m but they aren't because they know that Chelsea won't sell regardless of the price.

Lol 12m. He is not worth 42m, but 35m would be reasonable considering his potential and resale value.

But hopefuly we keep him for one more year. Maybe a proper rest and full season will do him the world of good and he turns out great or at least consistent next season.
