Eden Hazard

This is the biggest thread in Transfer Talk, The Match and Player Databases. It's also only 300 posts away from overtaking Andre Villas-Boas sacked to be the biggest thread from the 4 biggest boards on this forum, Matthew Harding Stand, Transfer Talk, The Match and Player Databases. Amazing, given the transfer hasn't even been confirmed yet!

Edit: Make that the 5 biggest (and therefore all of them), its bigger than any in General Chat.

I know  but it is still very annoying the way they're fans talk like they are the best team in the world.

Yeah but while we mock them for stoppage time goal difference they mock us for rubbish finishing. We were far more lucky in the CL than they were in the PL. If you want to mock someone for thinking they're the best, Liverpool and Barcelona would make far better targets :P

Don't worry i followed Eden for 2 years now. The image that was formed of him during these last months by the English media is completely wrong. It's also very easy to put all these quotes on paper without any sort of context. for example : the quote about Spain. He was at a Belgian sport show and they were talking about his playing style and asked him if he wasn't more suited to play in spain. To this he answered " Spain probably does suit my playing style more but the only teams to fight for prizes are Real Madrid or Barcelona and at my age it's very hard to get into the first team there." but ofcourse this gets tweaked and rehashed by the media.

Most of these quotes are just him staying respectfull to the teams that have shown interest in him. For example: What would you have him say to the question, what do you think of Liverpool and their interest in you? " Liverpool? Oh god no ! "

Also some of these quotes aren't all from this year. The "playing for Arsenal and Real Madrid is my dream" is from when he was 17y old.( 4years ago)

The Manchester quote was also because at that time we were 6th and looking at no CL so at that time we weren't an option to him because of that. Cl is important to him. He wants to play in the CL and measure himself with the best players.

I've read that some people feel annoyed by this. That he didn't wanna go to us without CL football but i don't think those people actually realize how big of a pull CL football is. Especially for young players.

He said he'll go to the Champions of europe (us) so don't worry about it. He's coming here. We're probably just working out the transfer fee with Lille and some administrative stuff. In the next couple of days or after the England game we'll announce the pressconference and he'll officially be ours.

It'll probably be announced tomorrow. I wonder if he can speak good English, we'll find out soon enough from his interview with Chelsea TV.

Sorry to disappoint you but he doesn't know a lot of English. So if he gives an interview it will be in French. ;)

He's said so much in the past. There's not a word out of Lille or Chelsea. I'm still worried something will go wrong.

There's nothing to be concerned about. Also the picture is amazingly stupid for several reasons, how is it concerning in any way that he says things like "yes, they are a good club, it's possible" about any club? Was he supposed to say "Arsenal? nah, they are shit"?

But even then I don't believe any of the quotes, especially when that "it will be one of the 2 Manchester clubs" quote is completely wrong, here's the interview that quote was based on

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpR_A6QogIc

As you can read from the guardians article that is when he's supposed to say that ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/may/15/manchester-eden-hazard-city-united?CMP=twt_gu ). If you watch that you clearly see it's complete bullshit and he didn't say that. It's amazing that people are still, after we have signed him, eating up all these so called quotes that there is never any evidence off. You would think there could at least be a video where he was saying all this shit. Same goes for his "demanding of having number 10".

Ok, i just put hazard in chelsea in the Fifa

Fuck that, I tried signing him the other night Lille wanted nearly 50mill for him.

Bought Schweinsteiger and Hulk instead.

Then Hulk broke his ankle in a pre season game, out for 3 months! grr

can play lw and CAM. though he wants the CAM him and mata i believe will interchange. he's stated he wants number 10 shirt and only way can play there is if they switch during games. proposal i believe we gave him.

as for RW i dont know tbh.

Exiting times, I thought he was a City player, I had given up hope. Incredible...

#11 should be retired as a sign of appreciation for our legend, Didier Drogba.

Not even the great Raul has his famous number 7 shirt retired at Madrid, ffs. If we retired numbers that easily we wouldn't have any left.

He's very versatile. He played most of his career on the left wing but this last season he's been playing more as a nr 10 behind the striker and he has excelled at it.(scoring 20 goals and 15 assists) He occasionally played on the right wing but his best position (and preferred position) is behind the striker or on the left wing. 1 thing you should know is that he loves to drift to interchange positions with other wingers. I would compare his style of play to Mata's or Silva's but he's a more explosive type then them.
