teignman 441
I'm sorry but the Spuds link just doesn't add up. First, Spuds are desperately trying to fund a new stadium. Granted, they will receive CL revenue, but will end up spending a large portion of it on Hazard? Next, they need a permanent first choice striker. Adebayor's loan is up at the end of the season, and they will either have to pay a transfer fee (I reckon at least £20m) to City + his extremely high wage demands, or go into the market to get another striker. If they delve into the market for a striker it will probably cost them upwards of £20m, not counting the wages that player would receive. I just don't see them splashing out over £50m in transfer fees plus well over £100k/week in wages on two players when they are trying to build a new stadium. One final note on Monsieur Hazard, I sincerely hope (for his sake and mainly ours) that he is not so myopic as to think that Spuds are a better destination because they will be in the CL next season. Even if we don't make the CL next season (cringe), we are still a better bet to make the CL on a yearly basis than Spuds over the duration of his next contract. Christ on a bike, if we don't make the CL next season (double cringe) it's not as if we won't make it for the several seasons.Pseudo-rant over. Thanks for tuning in. Badboy 1,526
Spurs are just trying to flex their muscles, Hazard would be part of a rotation system at that club. He would have to compete for one of the wide positions and Spurs have had one of the most consistent wide players in the Premierleague. Hazard would not even get into Man City's first team, he would play cup games like Adam Johnson and it would destroy his development. Man Utd have too many good quality wide men in Young Nani Valencia and Park ! We have by far the the worst winger/attacking midfield combination probably out of the top four. Mata ain't a winger and neither is Sturridge, both players have done relatively well in wide area's because they both posses traits that a winger would need. Sturridge has pace and finishing and Mata has a good cross and ball control. The good thing is Kakuta is doing really well in France and he's getting good reviews, he looks like his confidence is back and he's playing consistently !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BlueLion. 21,491
Spurs are trying to flex their muscles. Yeah, which muscles? They have no money at all, they couldn't even sign Man City reject Adebayor.
CHOULO19 24,332
I still don't believe spurs have the money it takes to buy Hazard. Maybe if they sell Bale...

KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
I think the only way to get Hazard now is if we get a Manager like Guardiola or Mourinho. After seeing the Train wreck we've become I think he wants to steer clear of us right now, But if he sees that we get a Great manager that begins to clear out the team in the summer and Bring in better players he may become interested again. I don't want a player that is stupid enough to sign for a club were he will play Carling cup games. He will not get into their team FACT, he's a good player but he ain't world class already and City have too many players who want to play that role.
