I love this line being pedaled by the media that we are holding out for 100 million but Madrid want to pay closer to 85. In what world is hazard not worth over 100 mill? I don't care if he's only 12 months left on his contract. Honestly if they are going to fuck about just keep him and let him go for free the year after

If Madrid are not going to pay above and beyond for him we should just keep Fatty, its hard to replace talent like his so we cant give it to them for a bargain. In a world were Pulisic goes for 60 million, we better get double that for Hazard even if he has 1 year on his contract. He is the face of the club, his influence goes way past just the pitch. Kids buy new kits every year because of him, some people renew season tickets just to watch him play, people visit Stamford Bridge to watch him so i hope Marina takes Madrid to the cleaners for Hazard.

Sadly he is a goner, or a deal would have been signed by now. He has given us his peak for what 7 years? The Club has surrounded him with dross after dross. If he leaves he leaves, I say thank you Eden for your efforts and wish him luck in RM. He deserved better than this for sure.

This sort of comment with regards to Hazard really annoys me.

Yes the club have signed some poor players, particularly over the last couple of seasons but we've also brought some extremely good players, and even in their twilight years Hazard also got to work with the likes of Lampard, Terry, Cole, Drogba, Ivanovic whilst he was still young and developing as a player and a man.

I love Hazard and I really appreciate what he has done for this football club. But this is Chelsea FC not Eden Hazard FC. He has been our main source of creativity and inspiration over the years but without tactics and personnel playing behind him (certainly under the likes of Benitez, Mourinho and Conte) to make us solid defensively, he wouldn't have been afforded the freedom he has been provided with for large parts of his Chelsea career to provide us with that. 

The same goes for the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, etc. All the success and adulation isn't possible without the backdrop of 10 other players in support of that. 

I think only City have won as many trophies as us in England since Hazard has been here, so whilst he has given us potentially his best years as a footballer, he's hardly left looking back thinking "what if?" when he looks at his trophy collection.

5 trophies in 7 years isn't bad. If we win the Europa League this year that will be 6 trophies in 7 years.
