In a world were Pulisic goes for 60 million, we better get double that for Hazard even if he has 1 year on his contract. He is the face of the club, his influence goes way past just the pitch. Kids buy new kits every year because of him, some people renew season tickets just to watch him play, people visit Stamford Bridge to watch him so i hope Marina takes Madrid to the cleaners for Hazard. Would like to think its because their Chelsea fans..... but if its purely just for Hazard I would suppose theyll be off to buy season tickets at the Bernabau next year. Simple as that. Great playsrs come and go unfortunately but thats life, the football clubs been here long before Eden and will be here long after him. Someone else will be the face of the club over the next however long and again when they move on it will be the same cycle. I mean when the likes of Terry, Cole, Lampard, Drogba werent at their best people and eventually left people were worried because we were losing some of the most iconic players in the clubs history or wouldnt be able to find players like them at their best but as we seen we still had success with various other players of a high standard. Losing Eden is what it is, was inevitable eventually be it if he retired here or was gonna leave to pursue his career somewhere. Sure we will be fine one way or another. robsblubot
robsblubot 3,595
I honestly think his potential absence is greatly exaggerated. Folks are thinking of what we have now, but a reminder that he is our top earner. These type of wages can attract excellent players to our club.

Hazard makes 200k a week.

Any other player wouldnt say anything but as weve seen with Eden, Lukaku, Courtous, de Bruyne it must be a Belgian thing 😂 I wont miss these sort of interviews.or the ones he does when with the NT when he goes tbf.

He’s just not that influential or at least not consistently enough. just fuck off already. Let the club plan and give the much sought-after free role to someone who wants to improve and become the player some here think hazard is. 1905didierblue

Also, the free role is given to someone who knows exactly what they're doing on the pitch, and there is no one else in the squad that does that. If we did have someone, then you wouldn't see the team constantly passing the ball to Hazard and expecting him to conjure up something. If you think we should buy someone who can do that, the club could have gone ahead and just done that a long time ago. What does that have to do with having Hazard in the squad? Mate, if willian had that performance, he would be crucified. Hazard was anonymous. Uncharacteristically lost the ball a number of times. Hardly tracked back or closed down. I don't think we should give him accolades for the penalty, it was the bare minimum he could do for us. Let's just hope it was due to the exhaustion of a long long season. And now he has 20.days to fill up on his energy resources.

He hasn’t signed a new deal and wants out... what’s a club to do? Move on and move on already... I wasn’t as much of a fan as others around here, now I’m kinda really sick of him. Hate his demeanor, on and off the pitch. answering your second point, like many of his fans like to say, the club has been incapable of adding quality around hazard, which essentially proves, to me at least, that having such a player may be detrimental to the squad. as in, the squad would benefit more from 2 additional good players instead of hazard. The ban is unfortunate obviously, but hope it can be lifted at least for this window.
