termninja 5,290
I find him overrated, I don't understand what makes the hype around him to be honesthttp://www.rtbf.be/s...ball&type=videoNothing for the moment from Chelsea, he's happy at Everton but if a big offer comes he'll have a look on itWell, he is not turning heads like some other players, but he is a good quality DM. Really strong, good in air and his ball distribution is alright. It's down to what formation we will play next season and which players will leave. If we decide to play a 4-2-3-1 with 2 strong DMs then perhaps we will go for Fellaini. Perhaps we will want a different kind of midfielder who is turned more to creativity and technique or perhaps we won't go for a midfielder at all.If we do sign Fellaini for something reasonable - 12m max then it would be a good transfer in my eyes. If not, well...not my money.
Leif 6,006
How about - Sign Fellaini for around £12mil (they need the cash), and loan Romeu to Everton as an instant replacement at their end.THAT I'd be happy about. As long as Romeu gets to play.
Bir_CFC 3,455
The reason I want Fellaini is because he's tall as hell. We lost a lot of height with Drogba and with all the midgets we have now, we are very short and weak. We need that tall guy who can win some headers in the middle of the park, otherwise we're stuck with just one way of play, always have a plan B. Fellaini is a one man Plan B like Drogba, of course not as good, but at least he gives us that option. And the way he's played for Everton further up the pitch, he'd be great. AndersonBLUE 819
We don't need an attacking mid though... Unless its a RW. I know he can play as a DM too but we don't need one of those - We have Lamps, Mikel, Oriol and Essien.

You do need some height in central defence and depending on the style you play, the striker, but it's a very minimal advantage if any in midfield. Makalele is 5'7" and probably the best defensive midfielder we've ever had. Didier Deschamps had an incredible career and is 5'8" Dunga might be the best defensive midfielder ever and isn't even 5'10".

My point is that our TEAM needs some kind of aerial threat in the midfield/forward line. Nowhere did I say that a defensive midfielder has to be tall to be good. When we had those average height defensive mid or center mids, we had height elsewhere in the midfield/forward line to compensate. Our team needs some height, and Fellaini addresses that.

Ramires is not a deep lying playmaker. Frank has only recently re-invented himself as one. We have only Frank in that position and Mikel, Romeu and even Meireles/Essien for a DM spot. So no, we need the Frenchman more.
francozola 2,040
The 16m Everton paid for him will prove to be a blessing in disguise for us. Hopefully the club will realize that paying 20m+++ for him is too excessive when we can get Cabaye for much cheaper.
