The stuff that Mata did do was quality. Mata didn't even play out wide did he? he was hardly ever there. I don't care if Kalou lost the ball less times or whatever than Mata, i don't think they were in the exact same scenario's and ran at defenders the same amount of times and did everything the same. Mata is quality, Kalou is fucking disastrous. I don't care about Malouda or anyone, i am just sick to fucking death of Kalou. He ruins every attack, every single one and it's annoying as hell.

Who ruined them tonight? Those that got on the end of the attacks, not the providers. And in a game like this, where we had to stop them from scoring, keeping the ball is more important than anything, imo.

Tough one to really comment on. We looked labored and after we scored the goal to make it 2-0 on aggregate we seemed to take it as a given that the tie was over, especially when Benfica had Perreira sent off, we were in cruise control and didn't really leave second gear. We were rather lucky that the Benfica goal didn't come until late as it gave them very little chance to capitalize on our lackluster performance. Great finish from Meireles to wrap it up and get us into the semi finals.

Im sure that we we saw tonight wont happen against Barcelona, none of the Chelsea players will take anything for granted against Barcelona but that's a different subject for a different thread.

All in all we got the job done, the hard work was done in Portugal and we saw it out tonight and that's all that matters. Now we are looking forward to a cracking semi final tie with Barcelona and a 6th semi final in 9 years for the club, a fantastic achievement.

You're having a laugh. I'll say this again, Kalou was by far our best attacker on the night. By enormous magnitudes. He was Lionel Messi in comparison to Emile Heskey and Ali Dia.

Kalou our best attacker? Oh my fucking christ i cannot carry on with this shit, that's obscene. He gets the ball out wide or high up the pitch and cannot cross or shoot. How many times did he provide a devastating final ball or test a keeper or even beat a player or actually do anything. He did nothing good, nothing. He's the shittest fucker that's ever played for Chelsea and he was shitter than dog shit today (well, last night).

I'll have you know that Mata lost the ball more than Kalou did tonight. He lost it 26 times by my count, Kalou an enormously better 8 times. He created bugger all and every time Kalou played him in he was offside. Poor show.

And Mata being offside when Kalou passed him the ball, you do know it's not always the runners fault right? he can only hold his run for so long, the pass has to be released earlier.

Also i cant believe some of the Benfica fans are comparing this to the Barca match... the sending off (two yellows) was debatable, but that was definitely a Pen, no two ways about it. The referee the whole game was quick to give out yellow cards, but it wasn't like he was favouring us.
