As Jype said above, there are other players we can sell to raise funds.

I know Luiz isn't having a fantastic season but to say he's dead wood isn't true. Luiz's problems has nothing to do with not fitting in Mourinho's system.

It's not just about raising funds though. It's effective management of assets. If you can get £30 million for a player who isn't an integral part of your starting XI then it makes sense to cash in, especially when you have young players with potential behind players like Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic.

Also with regard to the whole FFP thing I can just see us selling some of our best assets like Luiz to fund signings whilst teams like PSG and Man City continue to gain huge revenue through being sponsored by their owners' other companies and buy without having to sell, and without being challenged by Platini. Does anyone really believe he will stand up to his beloved PSG and Monaco? He likely then won't challenge Man City either.

A player's attitude can change as they mature although I admit it would be a big risk to the dressing room harmony to bring in Balotelli. He's just too good not to take a risk on though, surely? He can hold up the ball, work well in a counter attacking system, be intricate in tight spaces - and he's only 23! I do think Costa would be a flop but that Cavani would be a brilliant asset. No way are PSG selling though, unless they suddenly and miraculously start adhering to FFP.

That set of midfielders is not good enough IMO if we want to be serious challengers in both the Premier League and Champions League. Lampard is too old, and MVG/Romeu are not ready enough. Because Matic does lack mobility somewhat, I think Ramires would be a good partner to him but he is too technically inept and wreckless defensively. Replace him with Pogba and that's a midfield!

Pogba - matic will be so fantastic height, power, energy and technique in the pivot. If ramires could improve his passing, we won't be discussing this area but sadly that's not the case. Jose might not mind leaving ramires there though.

Acmilan look very unlikely to qualify for champs league. (Meaning less money so they might sell) And I can't remember the last time balloteli had an incident. It seems like he is maturing like how suarez has been doing too. And he is tall for crosses, has a good technique, scores freekicks and can shoot from outside the box and score against 19th century tactics. Like you said he's also intricate in tight spaces.

Cavani/suarez would be my first choice striker though but very unlikely.

We are currently in need of a striker, so sell Ba and some loanies that won't get played like Marin, Moses etc. and collect money for Cavani. I still don't get how didn't we get him in the summer, it was much easier to get him out of Napoli then, than from PSG now.

Effective management is knowing that Terry will retire soon and that Ivanovic is 30 later this month. We're definitely going to have to spend big on a new CB soon regardless.

Like I said before, I know Luiz isn't having the best of seasons but to say he automatically isn't in Mourinho's plans (when there's been many factors affecting why he isn't starting) is ridiculous IMO. You're writing him off far too soon I think.

My thoughts about defense. Get new LB, offload Cole, get Bertrand to be a backup. Move Dave to RB spot, then move IvanoviÄ to CB. IvanoviÄ can be a backup for Dave, and can be played either as a starting CB or backup. He is good at defending and heading, just horrible at going forward. There is also Zouma who is IMO good enough to be atlest backup.

And there it is, backline problem solved

Plenty of other youngsters to be decided on (Bamford, McEachran, Kane, Omeruo being the main ones) and could see us getting another DM but that to me a is a squad that can compete.

Why do all want cech to leave ...is he that bad? is reading the game badly? has he not performed at big stages? is he 38-40 and reflexes not like before?

I still think he has invaluable experience and he is one of the most underrated goalkeepers of our time!!...i wouldnt pick anybody over him...not even courtois( hes in top 5!!)...

why kick van aanholt out ? hes having a gr8 season at vitesse and will be perfect back up left back to shaw imo also think the same of bertrand...not sure why jose dont trust him...hes been soild at villa(i know its only been 2 games but still...)

courtois is a case of overachieving.....chelsea never tought he will peak so soon and worse Athletico would along with him....now hes gonna be demanding... but could sell him with a buy back clause after 5 years...

Bamford is impressive(touch wood...) omeru will fight for a spot next season(hes strong and quick , a perfect mourinho player)

costa/rooney/cavani along with torres and lukaku should seal the deal upfront...

Yes Balotelli! How long would he be willing to play for a team not in the CL, and he did say he wanted to work with Mourinho again. Aside from his attitude (admittedly a big problem) he's the perfect forward for us - has it all with his peak still awaiting. Besides in the CL I assume Mourinho will be wanting to play counter attacking football against the likes of Bayern and Madrid - isn't Costa, the only viable alternative, too slow for that and plus how can anyone be sure that he won't be a £32m flop that's just had one good season?

As a someone who watches Milan Balotelli doesn't have the work ethic hes the kind of forward that will lose the ball and just stand there and start pouting we don't need that here at all..
