That would be the perfect squad, we also need to sell Moses for around £4m

Chambers isn't starting caliber for Arsenal yet but he's an improvement on Jenkinson and Chambers might not stick at RB either. I've heard talk of him going to CB or CM. Overall, He was bought for the future. Arsenal look quite dangerous to me. They have some excellent talent and a fair bit of depth especially at midfield where it's a ton of depth. . Just because they haven't won in a while, doesn't mean they can't again. People were saying we couldn't win until we did.

Agreed. I think they'll be genuine contenders this season and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they look like the best team in the league for a large portion of the year. Their fragile mentality and naive approach to the big games will be their undoing once more, though in my eyes.

If they were to add a seriously top quality DM and striker I think the league would be a toss up between ourselves, City, and Arsenal.

right now moses' value is real low. i remember last summer there was talk of martinez wanting him at everton for 10mil. he is HG (which means an extra 2/3 million anyways). i mean even stewart "useless" downing was sold for 6mil pound. moses is definitely better than him.

there are already reports that villa want him on loan, so i would prefer if he goes on loan and maybe increases his value.

Southampton have now sold Lambert, Shaw, Lallana, Lovren and Chambers. These players accounted for 47% of their goals last season. If they sell Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez on top of that, that figure will rise to 76%.

I guess the positive for Southampton is the new manager will get to sign the players that fit his tactics...

Hope they don't get relegated this season

Maybe I am the only one who is relieved to know that Antoine Griezmann has joined Atletico. Glad the rumour we are chasing him is finally off, not because he is bad, but because his position is the last we needed at the moment.

The same applies to Reus IMO. There hasn't been a lot of rumours about us wanting him, but a lot of people here keep saying we should go for him. Great player, but he isn't what we need.

I was just browsing the Southampton forum and it's hard not to feel sorry for the fans tbh, their best season in years and now that team is getting ripped apart...

Do those people also cry and wallow in misery when Southampton offer players from smaller clubs higher wages to join them? Why should those smaller clubs then "improve their club as a sporting entity"? Oh what a shame, won't someone think of the children?

Professional football is a food chain, they just happen to be in the middle - a smaller link than some, a bigger link than most.
