Wouldn't bet on it, man.

I'm certain of it. It's our weak link. Our midfield is slow, cumbersome and ineffective. Look at the other top sides in Europe and compare theirs to ours, it's beyond a joke.

We have been linked with all sorts CM/DMs since October, it definitely gonna happen, Mourinho is not gonna pull the plug on it this time.

The thing is, though, that we've had this problem for a few years now and haven't addressed it. Jose insists on using a 35 year old as first choice. Can't see us spending on a huge signing at an inflated price now.

The world class midfielder we need is almost certainly already at a CL club, so I doubt their club would sell.

He's got no choice, we know it, the supporters from other clubs know it, even the bloody commentators mention it constantly that Lampard has no business playing there and the board are definitely aware of the problem, so much so Lampard was gone before Mourinho returned.

We've been linked with far too many midfielders recently, there's no smoke without fire. I think Lampard is playing 3 games a week because from January on he's gonna be what he should have been from the start of the season, a bit part player, getting 20 minutes here and there behind the striker.

I really hope we don't buy any of the players we've been linked with as of late. Not of our standard.

We need a Gündogan/Witsel/Bender type player. A world class or potentially world class player. Not Guarin. Gündogan's contract is nearly up and we should be offering the moon for him. Go in for him before Madrid or City do. Don't care if it's £35m, just fucking buy him and we'll have a world class midfielder locking down his position for years and years.

I completely agree with this!

I love Gundogan but his injuries have been worrying...

Well, I don't think that we need new striker this season. Why? We already have Torres, Ba and Eto'o. Schurrle can also play as striker. We are scored 30 goals in PL, the sam number as Arsenal, only Liverpool and City scored more. I think that the same situation was in first Mourinho's season on Stamford Bridge when Lampard was top scorer with 13 or 14 goals and we win the title.

Our biggest problem this season is our game in defence. Before (in first Moruinho's mandat) we score 1 goal and we knew that we win that game. Our biggest strenght was defence and with that defence we win PL and the other trophies, also CL.

We can finish this season without new striker in January and when season finish that we will see who will stay with team. If Ba and Eto'o left, then will be good to buy some FC, but WC player.

You got it wrong i think. I completely agree we do need a world class midfielder or a potentially world class midfielder like you said, but you cant get those players in January. You can get Gundogan (world class) or Witsel (potentially world class) only in the summer (Lars Bender is not in this level imo). So you're saying: "if we cant get them now, lets not buy anyone"? i think thats wrong, we need a player, even if its a player who next season will only be a squad player, we need this Guarin/Cabaye/whatever to be better in the current season... to fight fot the PL and to be able to compete better in the CL.

Whom to buy & whom to sell ?

BA in rumor to go to Roma for 12.6m, it´s a sale for me, asap.

KDB agent to speak with our bombastic Jose & his plans for the kid. KDB to leave for Germany just to save his career, thanks Jose.

I wouldn't sell Ba. He's clearly not a world class striker but a really good backup. I like him.

He has played 34 matches in blue and scored 9 goals. It's not bad at all.

His 9 goals are pathetic, Chelsea deserves better. Out he goes in January for 12m, money allocated for much better player.

We should know by now that buying for the sake of buying is dumb. We were so dependent on Mata so we bought and bought and bought in attacking midfield and we ended up loaning Moses, KdB can't get a game, and one of Willian or Schürrle is on the bench quite often. Depth is one thing but having too many players for one position is possible.

Think it would be a mistake to buy a midfielder in January who would just be serviceable for the remainder of the season but isn't the solution long term. We have to stop fucking around with these mid-tier signings and bring our side up a level by buying a world class player or two.

When Barca, Real Madrid, or Bayern want a player they go and get them and don't mess about. If we want to be as good as they are that's what we need to do.

Its not "buying for the sake of buying", its buying becuase you need someone that much and our situation in this area is so awful that we can lose the league because of that, and look pathtic against the top teams in Europe in the CL. We can buy a CM now, and buy another one in the summer, a world class one. Right now you cant get Gundogan its not that hard to understand. Jose got himself into this situation, if we can fix it for the remainder of the season why not.

It would be just like buying Ba. We bought him just to have another option in our lacking striker department and he's now playing once a month as a sub as soon as we brought another forward in.

One of the names you mentioned could actually improve us long term and that's Cabaye. Actually a realistic and likely inexpensive player too.
