Not really. We've only had striker issues in the last game where Torres was terrible. But before that, our strikers were doing exactly what Jose wants from them. Eto'o works the channels brilliantly to create space for diagonal runs, Ba is a great target man and offers us an option to play a more direct style, and even Torres before his injury was having his best time in a Chelsea shirt and provided us with physicality and speed up front and very good link-up play.

The issue with our attacks this season cannot be blame on the one man up top, in fact, imo, the issue more down to the three behind the striker struggling to implement Jose's system, especially when it comes to movement. In fact, Jose said so himself (can't remember after which game). This is due to a lot of factors; mainly that this is still a new system and the players will need time to get used to it, and the constant changing of those three players from game to game didn't help much and some of it is not even the fault of those three but the fault of our pivot being too easily overrun in midfield at times especially when Lampard has played in the pivot against teams that press.

Bottom line is, we've gotten used to just throwing money at our problems at Chelsea, but right now, what we need is not new expensive players, but time for the team to gel and the players to learn the new system and the manager to pick out and fix the little bugs in the team.

Prices might be inflated, but it never stopped Chelsea from buying before.

I believe a reasonably price quality CM and CB would be all that we require to push for the title.. Demba ba and Eto'o have shown that they can lead the line for us effectively would use those two more and Torres very sparingly.. But we really need reinforce CM and CB above all else

They are good strikers, but 'good' is not good enough for a title. Do you have any idea how big of a push a world class striker would give us? it would be immense if we signed one of the top guys, Lewa, Falcao ...

We do need a CM aswell, in January. CB I don't think we need, not in Jan atleast.. Only if Luiz's injury turns out to be worse than we thought.

Olivier Giroud is a good striker and he is leading arsenal line just well .. We are very similiar to them where as our midfild does the majority of our scoring..

Well he has 7 goals and 4 assists in the league. Eto'o has 2 goals and 3 assits.. 162 min per goal vs. 222.

I agree with the bold but you also have to look at Ba when played as undisputed number 1 striker how many goals he scores or assists.. Giroud has better numbers because he plays every game bar injury for them.. I'm more than happy with Eto'o and Ba as long as they contribute .. Title winning chelsea of old Never really had that 20+goals in the PL striker but fantasic team strikers who would poach and create goals as long as Ba Eto'o and Torres can do this we have the goals in the Mid to be pushing for the Title

I think striker not a priority this window.. Summer window 100% Lukaku next season will not be enough firepower to win us the league.. We should get what we really need now which is most definitely a replavement for Frank in our midfield and look to buy a top class striker in the summer

he can pass well enough --AND-- he can push past defenders with his speed and strength --while on the ball.

I think getting a 30 goals per season striker is useless, because our team plays as team and we never play on striker alone. Falcao scored those goals because he got all the balls. Here, he would get maybe 1/3 of the balls in attack. We need a striker who can link up well, create and hold the ball. And finish when he gets a chance.

While there are many top AM players like Goetze, Hazard, Neymar or Isco, you dont find many great CM/DM talented players like Pogba. I'd love Pogba. Juventus would demand so much for him though.

That's the big problem with trying to buy a top class CM in January. Most of them are playing on CL contending sides and they won't want to sell them.

Completely agree.

Arsenal lacked steel in the middle when Song was there. Even Arteta has been better than Song in that holding position.

Song's problem was positioning. Far too often, he would get caught high up the pitch, and leave the defense exposed. From what I've seen of him at Barca he seems to have improved on this aspect of his game.
