It has got to be the following first 11. Only question is Anelka or Torres. But my gut feeling is Torres as he has had a good record against Man Utd.

----------------Cech----------------

----Bos------Iva---Terry---Cole

------------ ---Meireles------------

-------Ramirez----Lampard-------

Studge---------Torres------Mata in a free role.

Sub: Kalou, Anelka, Malouda, Josh, Turnbull, Luiz, Bertand.

Just cus Luiz scored a goal against Leverkusen doesnt mean he warrants a start. He should have bee sent off in that game.

Key to the game is Stop their wingers and that should choke them.

It won't work with Ramires on the right wing. Because this position implies he will have to participate a lot in the attack, will have to cross et al. And we know this isn't this kind of player... Firstly because he hasn't the profil of a winger, secondly because - let's be honest - he hasn't got a good skill at all, his passing and touch are quite average... You'll tell me that he will have a more central and deep role than his position is suggesting, right ? If so, it won't work neither because the right back is Ivanovic, and he is a defensive right back, which means our right side will be blunted, and will provide a low danger to ManU.

Lampard is way to high on the pitch, in my honest opinion. He doesn't have neither the eye for the throught ball, nor is fast enough, nor has the pace, the agility and dribbling skill necessary to play there. Mata is the kind of player who could play there, not Lampard.

And as Eldo has mentioned it, Danni as a lone striker won't work. In my opnion, he is a second striker, who plays around a holding striker.

I don't agree with you, the fact that he has an atypical profile may imply that we can underestimate or misjudge what he can do. For me the right side of the midfield suits him perfectly because he can have several roles there: he can defend, he can cover the right back (and I said that to you some time ago, that Ramires was the key for the revival of Bosingwa) and he can go forward with the ball.

You may not agree with me but I think Ramires has a huge quality when he goes forward with the ball, I've rarely seen a quickest player with the ball.

With the 4-3-3 before the winter, especially against Bolton (H) or Tottenham (A), his way of playing was simple: playing vertically the more often he could and provide support with runs on the wings (and also in the axis to bring a surplus of players, arriving with speed). I don’t know if you remember Kalou’s chance at White Hart Lane at half an hour: Ramires gave a pass forward, continued his run and did cross magnificently well with a ball that did arrive in the most dangerous position of the zone between the goalkeeper and the defenders who are scared to conceide an O.G. I don’t really consider this as an isolated action from Rambo and he did manage to repeat several actions like this after that

He is increasing at the moment, he has the advantage of having played at the Copa America and dispose of more rythm than his team mates. But I find this player absolutely fascinating because when we see him play, we wonder if he has limits (when I see his performance at Sunderland I'm a bit speechless)... I'm of those who think that he can be even better in the next few years.

His volume of play is phenomenal and I don't agree with you when you say that if he has a «more central and deep role than his position is suggesting ». When we look at the best performance so far featuring Ramires, Meireles and Lampard so the Sunderland Game, we can only see that they did share the midfield in 3 zones, Lampard was active on the left flank, Meireles with a central role and Ramires on the entire right flank and also the central part of the field where he did several tackles and good interventions.

Ramires really has the ability to be at the “four et au Moulin” (=be at two places at once”) because he has a fantastic stamina and is quick, defends well… No his play is not scattered, he does just enjoys his incredible athletic potential and he manages to link it with intelligence of play, that I find pretty remarkable.

Otherwise I do agree with you about Lampard and with you and Eldo about Sturridge who could - if he plays as a lone striker - be blamed (if we loose by example) for leaving his position.

Key would also be getting in Rooney's face, which makes the holding role important. Do you think Meireles will be able to cope better than Mikel?

I don't know but I've got a pretty positive feeling for tomorrow's game. A draw would be a good result, of course but I guess we all hope for a win. I'm guessing either 1-1 or 2-1 for either side

As for the line-up:

Cech

Bosingwa-Ivanovic-Terry-Cole

Meireles

Ramires-Lampard

Sturridge-Torres-Mata

I'd have Drogba instead of Torres but he is out injured. Perhaps Ivanovic on the RB position and Alex as CB but as they've coped pretty well so far on their respective positions then let the back four stay somewhat unchanged.

To the US residents, is FOX broadcasting this game live? Because I have a hard time believing FOX will sacrifice NFL Handegg broadcast.

It will be on FSC. Don't know where you are getting this nonsense from. I watched Chelsea beat le arse on Super Bowl Sunday before. What happens in the NFL will have no bearing on FSC, GolTV or whatever footie channel you watch. Two different bits of programming.

Uh, no. It's not nonsense. I just saw a commercial while watching MLB on FOX (the main FOX channel, not Fox Sports Net, not Fox Soccer). It said that it will be on FOX tomorrow. I'm just not sure if it's live. EDIT: Thanks, Super Frank.

It's live on FSC but tape delayed for Fox Network. Depending on your market/city, it will either be before or after the NFL game. For example, in Washington DC, the Redskins are playing at 2 so the Chelsea game will be shown at 5 (or whenever the Redskins are done...usually by Week 8...).

Check TVGuide for your local schedule. Fox plans to show four games this season. The Chelsea-Liverpool game is on the cards and so is the United game at the bridge which is on Superbowl Sunday.

Missing out Mikel is madness, he is our most important player for tomorrow's match. If Mikel really well I think he can control the midfield, hopefully he will once again show his great passing and unsloppyness.

I agree. He has to play for me, while Meireles, Ramires and Lamps compete for the other 2 midfield spots.

Random post :P

Chelsea CF's vs Man utd:

Torres 11 games, 3 goals. Drogba 19 games, 3 goals. Anelka 27 games, 6 goals - 4 when he played for Arsenal.

I want Torres to play tomorrow, but if AVB thinks Anelka is the better choice... then so be it.

Just want whoever it is to put in a solid performance - a goal would be great too :)
