Reddish-Blue 2,503
I've never complained. I've told people to get back on topic, but I've never complained. I belive the old proverb applies 'Do as I say, not as I do'.Besides, I truly hope you are aware that by complaining about me being off topic you are going off topic. Oh the irony. You were the one that started posting Jesús Navas pics for no reason on a Juan Mata thread.Back on topic, Mata is just awesome. Spike 12,049
You were the one that started posting Jesús Navas pics for no reason on a Juan Mata thread. And your point is? That I'm more guilty than johnske64 because I started it? He was off topic just like we are right now.Mate it seems you have a problem with me; just block me. Term-X 7,891
Del Bosque doesn't watch enough Premier league football or Chelsea for that matter, hence why Torres was selected for the Euro's lmao. CHOULO19, RamiCFC9 and Zone
DYC. 7,542
I just can't find the words to describe his class. It's indescribable. And that flick to Ivanovic for his goal...just brilliant.Good to have him stay at the club for the internationals and get a small brake once again.I just love how he's proved his doubters wrong and reminded everyone who's (still) the boss. He's so decisive.
Jype 6,398
It's good he wasn't called up by Spain and he can now have another two weeks rest. I'll fully expect this magnificent form to continue after the break as well.
Superblue 6,372
After his performance against Wolves, putting him in my fantasy football team to replace Hazard was a masterstroke! 2 games later - 1 goal, 3 assists, keep it up Juan! His current form is even more important whilst the new signings continue to adapt. Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
Great read. TorontoChelsea 4,064
Great read. How ironic it was brought up now Del Bosque's baffling decision to leave out Juan Mata. http://soccernet.esp.../id/162?cc=5901I actually think it's an awful piece. At first, I actually thought it was done through google translate because the language is so stilted, mannered, and uncomfortable but I'm pretty sure the writer's native language is English and just can't write...Bad writing and poor grammar when you are presenting a piece (rather than just, say, in a casual post) drives me crazy. This piece could have been written perfectly well in one or two simple paragraphs without the overwritten nonsense. (for example , what the hell is "buzz-bomb energy"? A buzz-bomb was a type of German guided missile used in the World Wars. Is that a good way to describe Mata's energy? Just write "he's energetic" or "he has tremendous energy". What does he mean when he says Spain remain "eminently good?" Does he mean that they are a morally upstanding team or does he mean that they are "very good". Writing simply makes you simply a better writer.) Anyway, I think he overstates Spain's need for Mata. Even had Mata been recalled, he wouldn't have started. ,Like many on here, I'm just happy he wasn't recalled so he can rest some more. Rambo 1,729
There is a reason why Señor Mata is AKA El Maestrojust curious if people are still mad at me for comparing Mata to Zola? Dude is very Zola-esquezola-esque, I will give you that. But it's not fair to compare him to Zola because he was more gifted offensively. Jase 43,479
Great read. How ironic it was brought up now Del Bosque's baffling decision to leave out Juan Mata. http://soccernet.esp.../id/162?cc=5901That's a pretty poor article IMO, which is somewhat disappointing considering it was written by Graham Hunter. The title of the article is talking about Del Bosque's strange decision to not pick Mata but yet in the article itself, Hunter only talked about Mata a little bit. Otherwise, he just went on and talk about Spain NT squad and upcoming matches in general. Hardly told us anything new about Mata wasn't picked. The focus should have been more on him in the article. Bir_CFC 3,455
Mata's style of play is too direct for Spain's tiki-taka, false-nine bullshit imo. However, if he starts Torres then it would have made sense to start Mata too.

However, if he starts Torres then it would have made sense to start Mata too.Its also why i'm not worried about losing him to Barcelona or Real Madrid. Mata is not a star name in Spain and as a result he wouldn't be first choice at Real and as said above his style is unsuited to Barca.Mata is a real high quality player and wasa massive signing last year - he's fully aware how much Chelsea fans love and appreciate him. Can see him playing here into his thirties. Stats and xPetrCechx

I believe he performs in big games, he's just THAT dominant against the lesser teams! robdog, Rmpr, Rambo and 2 others

He was good in a few but never shone (as in the overall performance) imo and that's what I was referring to. Think Drogba vs Valencia or Iniesta vs Real in the Super Copa (first leg). Made 2 assists, with the last 1 a brilliant through ball for the Drog. He was man of the match for sure IMO with Drogba, absolutely bossed that game robdog
