If it was any other year maybe but with the WC coming up and playing time hard enough to find with the Spanish squad..... Mata needs to be playing or he won't get called up by VDB. Another team will gladly find a place for him on the pitch on a regular basis.

Also if he was playing for any other team than Spain.

I agree, and bought him under the radar too. As good as mata is, oscar for me is clearly the better footballer in what is a team sport. Mata can never match the kind of performance oscar gave against juventus even if he score a double hatrick in one game. Hazard who i also rate more than mata will only be at that level if he performs at this level as he did at lille(already did vs bayern). Oscar is putting more consistent high level performance this season. He is really competitive. So you see oscar's performance vs Juve and hazard's vs bayern were incredible we've seen nothing of such from mata at the highest level. All oscar and hazard need to be better than mata is mere consistency, oscar seems to have found that so far and hazard will surely find he's under Mou and mata might still be excellent but not up to their level.

hahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaahahahhahahaha... oh god!!! that cracked me up. u know what i live in a hostel, so i called in a couple of my friends (who by the way are united and arsenal fans) and told them to read this and they had a hearty laugh too... thanks for it dude. :)

rdm preferref oscar in the middle because he sucks on the wings... no other reason. this was proven when rafa played him the 2nd half of the season on the wings, people started calling him "over-rated"... that is the extent of how bad oscar was on the wings.

u can guarantee??? put a straight swap for mata-rooney and let him play behind rvp and see the magic of football happen right in front of your eyes.

LOl. This is coming from the kid that said Oscar played with no heart a good chunk of last season... (It was you that criticized Oscar like no other, so don't say "people")

Also, I dont think you know United has someone called Kagawa who played for BVB and is a better goalscorer than Mata and yet he barely gets runs.... United would make him play in the wings.

Oscar is creative, however, when you focus a lot of your energy on both sides of the ball, it's hard to be sharp and creative (go ask hazard)..

and i still stand by it. look at his performances now and then and u can see a difference as clear as day and night. or do u want to tell me that within 2 months oscar has gone from "what the hell is he doing" to "should be played ahead of mata".

oh...is it the same hazard that game bayern a run for their money despite being awesome both sides of the ball? right now, hazard is off form nothing more/nothing less. also i dont see people like muller, ribery having so much problem being creative despite working their asses off defensively. if u have the class, it will shine thru. right now oscar's creativity is notches below mata's. to even compare their creativity tells me exactly how much u know of football.

Definitely agree, but if this is the kind of chances Mourinho is going to give Mata (as he did with Kaka), I have a problem...

I have been on the record Oscar is my preferred #10 (and no, it is not because he is Brazilian), but Mata sure can play and he deserves better than games against Swindon.

So, for me, Jose must find a balance in keeping Oscar as our primary CAM and giving Mata enough opportunities to prove himself!

Honestly, Mourinho pisses me off sometimes !! I feel like the reason Juan played so poorly is because Jose deprived him of the freedom he had under RDM and Rafa. He had the freedom of the pitch under these managers... and we saw the results ! 19 goals and 35 assists... THATS WHAT HE BRINGS TO THE TABLE !!

He looked out of sorts at Swindon. He did play one delicious pass in the first half but he just looked like he didnt really belong ! Whenever he tracked back in order to ''impress Mourinho'' it broke my heart ! He made quite a few niggly tackles and its all because that isnt his thing! Do you see Messi/Ozil/Iniesta tracking back all the time ? And are they made second choice to a player inferior to them even tho they can play together in the same team ??

I did, I posted in the unpopular opinions thread that Oscar would be Jose's preferred #10 and (at the time) I was laughed at!

You should stop rooting for Mata and start rooting for Chelsea...
