Jase 43,479
Yeah I know, not saying he's a Utd supporter just heard people speculating about it. Tbh I woulnd't care that much if he was, true professionals like him would probably put that aside when choosing club.Yeah. After all, Terry was a United fan... Sir Mikel OBE 4,920
I don't understand all the posts belittling Mata, he's been our best player for the last two seasons. He's also been the fan favourite. Goodbye, special Juan. If he was special he would have stayed and fought for his place. Yeah but if it's obvious he's not going to fit in, then why not let him go and sell? He just wants to play, especially a player of his quality, and many were banging on about selling him already anyway given his incompatibility with the system. Popular Post! NishC300 1,865 Posted January 25, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted January 25, 2014 Player leaves after he is being sidelined by the manager and made surplus of requirements to the club that offered more money for him that any club every would. And he is labelled as traitor.Do you have a proof that PSG wanted him? How do you know that this club would sell him for less money. He opted to go to United. If Hazard show intention to go to PSG or Real next summer, would club just do as he wish? No question asked. If you become unwanted at your work and the closest competition offers you better terms and treatment and persuades you that you are welcomed and needed there, would you turn it down and wait for you boss to start trust in you someday, if ever? It's no brainer really. It happens every day.Athletes go where they are appreciated, that is reality in every sport. Nobody, including yourself, would choose to be somewhere he doesn't feel to belong, and if you are claiming otherwise, you are hypocrite. He would have never been better in defense than Oscar and he would have never gained pace to play as a winger here, even if he tried, there was no place for him and he realized it.They call us plastic fans. It takes one to go trough couple of this pages to realize why.I don't even have stomach for that.Spot on!Forgot this everyone? Mourinho, IMO, was pushing him to become a better footballer. He's no old man. At 25 he shouldnt be past the age of learning, and adapting, his game. As our best player(a statement many people believe) he should have had more than half a season's worth of fight in him for our club. There is no question in my mind that Mata has more than enough quality to work in a mourinho system. It comes down to the simple question of "Did he want it?" though

By wanting to play I meant, I'm not sure he was going to happy coming in and out of the team and think he wants to play in every game, be a starter basically. Regarding with the Mourinho system, do you think even if he improves himself will ever get that pace, aggressiveness, tenacity, stamina like Oscar, Willian to truly flourish? I do think he can improve in that aspect but I'm not sure if it will reach that level required here because he wasn't brought up and have the nature of a player like that.
