Thibaut Courtois

To be fair. From the beginning fans called him the cunt that put Cech on the bench and chased away club legend Cech. When he played extraordinary over the past years, he got like 2 positive comments. And when he did something that was average, bad or debatable, he got like 100 negative comments.

I hope that Kepa gets a better treatment from the beginning. Let's all get behind our new number one and support him when he makes a mistake.

Thank you for the good times, your contribution for 2 PL titles. And good luck in your personal life with your children and for the rest of your football career!

I don't remember that at all. Everyone was rooting for him to take over that season, but were sad to see Cech go to Arsenal of all places.

I myself wanted the change since it was a generational change where we had a young goalkeeper of great class and potential instead of one that was beginning to show his age a little bit.

Also, Courtois was always supported here (even when he said some shit). Everyone rated him as one of the best in the world and we were proud to have him. I remember when we had a 2 legged league cup semi final where this forum went crazy with praises for him for weeks!

The ironic thing is, if we ditched him in favour of a declining Cech, how many of the "we let a legend go for this cunt" crew would be screaming "OMG we let Courtois go just like we did KDB and Salah we never give youth a chance".

Regardless of how this has ended, the decision to draft Tibo in back in 2014 has been more than justified.

End of the day, we have made the most of Courtois time here.

2 PL titles, 1 league cup and 1 FA cup.

Not bad for 4 seasons of utility.

I still don't know why people are upset over his leaving I mean yes it stings but then we are in a capital society. Everyone leaves their current job if they get a better job don't they? Courtois did the same thing!

Yes it is sad that we live such a world where loyalty doesn't mean a thing to a employer or the employee.

Terry wanted to stay with us did we let him??? Its a two way street and we have to accept it. The era of having players stay in a club and commit to it is slowly but definitely diminishing!

I am excited for the new person who is going to take on his shoes

Not upset on his leaving ... Yes he could have gone out graciously and thats what spoils it I guess. For me I'm disappointed/upset that he could have turned out to be one of the best in the world and he has not been able to make it infact he plateaued early after a phenomenal rise at the start.

Anyways all the best which he would really need because he wouldnt have his way at Madrid like he did it here.

unfortunately for us this all started with his loan move to A. Madrid in 2011, the longer he was there the more settled he became hence building a family in Spain, but yea he could have moved his family to London if he so wished, others have done it, whats his excuse? Lets not forget how integral he was to Simeone success from 2011-2014, he cemented his reputation in Atletico as one of the best keepers in the world and connected with their fans and the city unlike here at Chelsea altough his loan to develop there was more than justified when he came back to stay here and it has reaped rewards, 2 PL titles, 1 FA Cup and 1 LC, yes thats a pretty good cv in 4 seasons here, but not enough to reach legend status because of his lack of professionalism and respect towards the club with the costant arrogance moaning to reporters and flirting with Madrid, blah, blah, even more so after failing to report for training in order to force trough a move to Madrid now, it just shows his lack of professionalism. He will never be loved and aprreciated here like Cech was and thats a fact, Cech was the consumate professional for us during 11 years and we honored his wishes to remain in London with his transfer to Arsenal (urghh) in order to bet on the future (Courtois) ,his years of dedication and service for us warranted that move and no matter what he will always be a legend for us and loved here. Courtois attitude stinks to be honest and has been stinking a lot for a while now. Bye big nose, thanks for your services but kindly fuck off to Madrid now.

I think we are being a little too harsh. Courtois was not born and raised in London, he's not a Chelsea lad. He was signed by the club, loaned to Atletico, felt good there but got called back. I am sure he didn't even want to return, but it was the best thing for his career. Now the best thing for his life and career is to go back to Madrid. He has his family there, he loves the city and, let's be fair, he's going to a bigger and more exciting club.Ask any player, who's not a Barcelona or Atleti fanatic, and he'll tell you that he wishes to play / have played for Real. It's a huge opportunity for Thibaut and we should try to understand that.

Of course he said and did a lot of childish stuff, but some people do that. I wish him best of luck and thank him for his efforts. Not everyone is made to be a legend or a hero of the fans.

I just feel maybe maybe we could have gotten more for him from RM?

true or also the club should have brought in a replacement much sooner instead of having to pay over the odds for Keppa, but what is done is done

Hate to say it though but he knows Hazard, probably close with him more than anyone else on our team, he wouldn't be saying these things if he knew Hazard would stay at Chelsea. I'm not at all worried though lately, the last few days just proved that all the years of doubt in the transfer market and ambition of the owners etc was for nothing, I think we will see an unmotivated Hazard this year, it's not going to take much for his head to go down, it didn't anyway but this year even more so.

Let's cross this bridge when we come to it though , let's enjoy the season and hope Sarri and the new boys can bring a positive vibe and push the team on for the season - We got rid of the toxic snake and come out better off for it... Crazy that a few days ago we were outsiders for top 4, surely we can't finish lower than spuds/arsenal now?
