These names that the reliable reporters are putting out there that were interested in are a disgrace. The sorts of managers that you’d expect the likes of West Ham or some other traditional midtable club to go for. Not a club with ambitions to compete at the top again and soon.
If these jokers are dumb enough to appoint McKenna, Thomas Frank, or that Leicester manager we’re finishing 10-12th again next season.

He wanted a 3 year deal - which I believe would have been on reduced terms to meet the new direction of the club - but we wouldn’t offer it so he was quite right to take another offer. The club pretty much gave up after one offer as 3 years was some sort of issue for them. Yet they have given utter shite unproven players 7 & 8 year deals. There is no consistency. Yes people will say his injuries but he has played virtually every minute in Saudi and we have had more injuries than fuck knows what since Boehly appointed whoever as medical staff.
Also, let’s not pretend people (particularly people on here one who has been banging on about selling Kante for about 5 years 🤣) wanted him to leave also.
Some of us seen this coming. Losing Jorginho, Kovacic and Kante in the space of 2 windows and replacing them with 2 guys with like 200 games at a decent level between them and a few kids who may be good was suicide. But all three of them “weren’t good enough for Chelsea” which is odd because even at their worst they were all much better than what we are seeing now from the 2 we got for quarter of a billion pounds.

Think getting rid would just paper over the cracks - the problem runs a lot deeper with the custodians/investors

I think we aren't as far off as people are making.
Most of us here are emotional wrecks because we love the club so much. But it really isn't as dire (outside of the results).
We are at the tipping point IMO, where things start falling where they should. It isn't a case of changing 50% of it all. It is about tweaking and fine tuning. We won't be winning it all, but this side is a few tweaks and some consistency away from challenging for top 4-6.
TBH - People complaining about not getting Felix and Dusan are the same ones that didn't want them before the season started. It isn't a squad/player problem. We can score goals - just like any other team can. Brighton don't have a "proven" goalscorer, and neither do plenty of other teams, so the excuse is just bollocks.
We lack consistency and confidence. Poch needs to set up an attacking side and let the cards play out how they may.

I believe we will have such moments one too many times this season ... we need to remember that there has been a complete restructuring of Chelsea Football Club, i find it hard to recognize it from the near past.
Players/Owners/Managers/Culture/Vision: everything! Tough times ahead!

By the end of the window we will have the worlds most expensive GK, the worlds most expensive number 9 and the worlds most expensive LB all on loan 😂

Oh man.,. When I saw this topic is active I already had bad feeling it was going to be injury.. He is our best player and also a great humble young man, feel so sorry for him..

The Chilwell slander I repeatedly see from our own supporters on Twitter is insane. When fit he’s arguably the best LWB in the league and in a back 4 with top class midfielders in front of him I think he’ll do a great job as well. Not to mention he has become a genuine leader in the squad and is Vice Captain to Reece apparently.
I’m seeing Chelsea fans angrily saying that we should sell Chilly rather than Hall. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
As @Mhsc mentioned above, it would indeed SUCK to lose Hall and we should do all we can to avoid letting him go to a direct rival like Newcastle, but where is his route to first team football here now? Midfield is completely loaded with quality and if Maatsen stays he’s more naturally a LB than Hall is. Even if we sold Cucu he’d still have Chilly and Maatsen in his way.
We probably have to reluctantly let him go but I think a buy back or at the very least a first refusal option should be negotiated.

Jackson. What a signing, never gave up on anything, great buy by the board.

Well... fair play to Caceido. That is a character move.
He ain't worth what is going to be thrown around - but that is proper Chels. So he is priceless in my eyes.

People talk bout us needing a new kante but for me i'd settle for a prime Matic or Makalele type if we gonna persist with the double pivot.even Kante wasnt ideal for that role, don't really want someone chasing the ball like a spaniel, want someone to sit and guard, sniff out danger and snuff it out. Doesn't even need to be a tackle machine to be an effective DM. Blocking passing lanes is a skill that isnt shown on a stat sheet but important all the same.

£110M that is a LOT of money... even more than Enzo.. who we bought not even a year ago, people seem to forget that.. Yes it was a bit frustrating that we were chasing him for months only to lose out, but who would have guessed that somebody would pay more than £90M for him. The board was just trying to get their money's worth and I can see why they choose to hold off on the £100M bid, tbh for me I would have not even got past the £85M mark as I thought that that was a fair and realistic price for him. Fair play to Brighton they got their price. We move on.

all summer everyone was saying 90-100m for caicedo is madness now liverpool bids 110m and again everyone is outraged that we did not bid that much.
110m pounds is fucking crazy money for a dmc.
i would rather pay 50m pounds for lavia than 110m for caicedo.
in the end, what a fucking embarrassing work from our board.

Why do you hate him so much? He is far from a shocking footballer. He was average in a shocking team last season.
A shocking footballer does not have the season he did at Palace where he nearly touched double figures. He put in top performances for Palace, contributed to their win at their Etihad against the best team in the world. I remember he put in two MOTM performances against Arsenal that season. Name me one player who was not poor last season.
Give him a chance. We have lost so many CM and not bought one. So makes logic to sell another one who is full England international right?
He has proven himself that he can perform at a very good level in the PL and has the addition of English tax. Well in our rights to ask for £50m.

I actually want to see a "senior" midfielder come in before we sell Gallagher, or at least have agreed terms with. Enzo will be our only senior midfielder left and just worry that other clubs will raise their price because we are looking.

Hey guys, i know some of you are interested in this topic, so i'll post it here. This is a table i made with salary + amortization cost for our players (comparison between last season and next one). Made some hypothesis on salaries and sales amounts (in yellow), and the salary figures are taken from Capology. This was intended for a french speaking discord initially, so some titles are in french :).

Kolo Muani for me has the sort of skill set that would translate well in any league. I wouldn’t be concerned about him.
Osimhen on the other hand I would be uneasy about spending £100+ million on.

I think some people still dont realise how special and unprecedented our situation is. Has there ever been a club that was undergoing a more drastic change over such a short period, happening out of nowhere?

Disappointed in the likes of Mount and Havertz who seem to be bailing on the club at the first sign of struggle. It's pretty clear that there is a longer term plot at the club to build a younger squad to grow and develop together, and in both circumstances they could have fallen into the bracket of still young and long term, but two of the more experienced players within the group that could have assumed more leadership and direction on the squad.
The press briefings from both player's camps that they will not be signing new contracts whilst the club are in the middle of transfer negotiations is very poor in my opinion but unfortunately the way things are nowadays. I'm just glad the club is sticking to its guns with both players to get a valuation deemed acceptable and not take a feeling of being short changed. If we can get anything like £60m upwards for each then I think both will overall represent good deals for the club.
On one hand I'd have had no problem keeping either within the squad next season, but on the other hand I don't believe either is a "game changer". They are completely different circumstances to the likes of Salah and De Bruyne who never got the opportunities here before both left. Mount and Havertz have had 4 and 3 years respectively in the Chelsea first team and whilst both have produced moments, neither has been able to find a consistency to their game and as a result, a regular and healthy output of an end product. If either goes on to be a bigger success somewhere else then so be it because I'm unsure if that would happen here.
Ultimately both are part of a wider problem at the club in recent years of inconsistency which has prevented us getting anywhere near a title challenge lasting past Xmas.

I actually think Havertz will slot into their team nicely...
Not suited for our team, and clearly him and Mount had an impact on the dressing room politics. He needed to go, but I think what he does on the pitch is a positive given our faults as a team over the last year and a bit.

Problem is we idolize and worship football players and people in sport in general but truth being told 99% of them and complete idiots who did not read 2 books in their life.
Average Joe is superior to all of them. Just like we go to circus to be entertained we should look at them the same way.
When football started rich people paid poor people to play football to watch and be entertained... Now poor people pay their hard earned money to watch millionaires whose only quality is to shot the ball...

The true mark of a team that is incredibly coached is that you can constantly rotate different players in and out and not drop a level. That’s exactly what we have now.
