DanP2311 got a reaction from Vesper in 🇺🇸 Christian Pulisic
Now is the time to get value for Pulisic. His WC stats were off the hook. One example:

James---Azpi---Silva---Cucurella
Kova - Jorginho
Mount------Sterling-----Pulisic
Broja
Not going to happen...just sick of watching the boring 3-4-3 while we're still struggling and conceding...

Today’s piece in The Athletic says he won’t be signing an extension so his options are to play out his run and/or hope for a transfer. Given the number of times he has been described on this thread as “shit,” and his role in putting CFC into the CL a couple of times, it’s not surprising that he would want to move on. The clip at the top of this page shows that he still has quality, and TT still values him as an impact sub, so he will get some minutes. But probably best for all concerned if a move can be arranged.

Playing Alonso vs any kind of half decent attack is like an instant 2 goal handicap from the start

DanP2311 got a reaction from Fulham Broadway in 🇧🇪 Romelu Lukaku
Lukaku is great whether or not Tuchel can use what he does well. His numbers don’t lie and his distribution and finishing skills are evident. Some players don’t fit some systems. No need to disparage either the system or the player when that happens. It’s not like he’s alone as a Chelsea player whose market value exceeds the value Chelsea is getting from him.

Watching this and other Chelsea boards makes thin a move in January would be good for all concerned. No one at Chelsea (manager, fans) rates him at his market value — well, some of his teammates do, but …. Chelsea fans seem unanimous that he will be perpetually injured, he should just be s super sub, and blah blah blah. So if he can’t stay healthy in the PL, why not deal him in January, maybe to a league where hacking the technical players is penalized more heavily? Win-win, right?
No way he will be satisfied long term as the 4th or 5th winger, so given all the talent in the Chelsea system, selling him to a club that values him more highly will happen eventually. Why not in January. CHO looks good, Mount is a mainstay, Ziyech is in form, Havertz gets a lot of winger minutes, and for some reason TT likes Werner. Fans are talking constantly about acquiring additional attackers. Seems a no brainer.
Yes, I am certain that he will flourish elsewhere, but most of you are not. He’s made of glass, right? So why not get some value for him now before he’s permanently broken?

Trust me, Chelsea has lost a lot of American fans for its use of Pulisic. They know why Chelsea played CL football in the 2020-21 season. Squad player, ha. When he leaves it will be a good day for all concerned.

He is not participating in Gold Cup. He is resting and recuperating, getting ready to compete for playing time (as he said recently in response to a reporter's question).

Typical CONCACAF match, complete with projectiles raining down on the pitch, horrible refereeing, flops galore, and no flow. The referee pool is 90% people from leagues that are called very differently than most of the American and Canadian teams are used to. So they have to adjust to playing with constant stoppages for various forms of drama. And because of the off the pitch history of the Mexico-US rivalry (Google “Landon Donovan bags of piss”) there is real hatred between the clubs and fan bases. Long time USMNT fans loved to see Pulisic choose to celebrate in front of the Mexican fans. A LOT of water under the bridge there.
The sub Reddit for this match was hilarious. One of my favorite entries — “Come for the projectiles, stay for the obligatory Mexican choking McKennie.”

My 2 cents.
Kante is peaking at the right time.
Mendy inspires so much confidence.
Havertz still up and own but I like him at the false 9.
Pulisic looks like a confident thoroughbred in attack lately.
Back line seems so solid.
City also sharp right now. I think we need 60+ min of Pulisic to beat them, because he just creates chances and is more composed in the attack. But we shall see ...

My godness...
My worry is their midfield will overrun us. We need Kante in his prime tonight

Jorginho-Kante is a horrible duo against City. Kovacic will be a huge loss, let's hope he comes back for the UCL semi-finals.

Sure, assisting two WBA goals is worse than usual, but what does Mr Backpass ever bring to the table that puts him ahead of other midfield options.
Anyone scouting Chelsea could miss how poorly and risking we played out of the back today.

And get pulled when he converts. These are all information data points about TT.

Perhaps, but that doesn’t explain the distribution of opportunities between Werner and CP under TT. I suspect CP and his agent are learning. Hopefully the club won’t warehouse him, and will want to extract some value from him. He is young and deserves a manager who will give him a fair shot.

Agree that one can’t judge Pulisic vs Werner until Pulisic gets the same look (minutes, games) Werner has gotten.

Chelsea is easy to BEAT.
1. Rigid in their own zone and so Predictable.
2. Fullbacks dictate the game instead of midfielders.
3. All players rooted on their spot instead of running to open space or run to collect the ball.
~~ a. Fullbacks + keeper love to kick among themselves instead of quickly passing the ball forward.
~~ b. Midfielders dnt run to collect the ball and then move forwards to attack.
~~ c. Same as midfielders, forwards rooted at their spots and not running to open space for balls.

Hate to say it because he is the preeminent offensive threat, and he tracks back better than the other wings, but playing Pulisic 2 days from now is not smart.

I am surprised so many people think FL’s job is on the line over the next couple of matches. I would find that surprising if true.
