thekid9 418
That is absolutely shocking for a club of our size. Why? Stamford bridge is our home...I don't really see a need to change, barring Money

If we want to progress as a football club, we have to move stadium. Stamford Bridge will just continue to pull us back from everyone else. We earn £35 million less than Arsenal every season. That's 1 world class player we could buy on a season basis without FFP being effected. I guess we'll have to see what the club say; I genuinely believe that if it's possible, feasible and not ridiculously expensive they will redevelop the bridge. But 3 big if's there. Bir_CFC 3,455
Read somewhere that the idea for redevelopment to 60,000 for Stamford Bridge is now the objective. And apparently, Chelsea will make an official announcement soon as well. kellzfresh

What are our moving options at the moment?I'm not convinced that redeveloping SB achieves anything other than postponing the problem. Upgrading The Bridge will drag our stadium up to twentieth century standards for sure, but we can all see the deep, deep flaw in that situation. I believe that a stadium which is truly fit for the future can only be created away from SB. That said, you have asked the right question of course, and an acceptable answer to that question is now further away than it has ever been.Speaking purely personally, I would be prepared to widen the radius of the search for sites, but I accept that the greater the distance from home base we propose to move, the fewer and fewer Chelsea fans would go along with it. chelseafc9010, Muzchap and Cumbrian

Perhaps even on the brink of Surrey area. Muzchap, OhForAGreavsie and Viper22

Laylabelle 9,536
The slight advantage where it is at the moment is its walking distance from 2 main stations. If was to become bigger no good having it in a area where really one is accessaible cause that just be mad
chelseafc9010 224
Making it 60.000 would be great but it still isn't up to scratch compared to stadiums like the allianze, bernabue ect. Muzchap

People go on about how the Bridge is too small for us now but are quick to forget how almost every cup game goes on general sale, we don't sell out every game and we put season tickets practically on general sale in 2010/11 due to lack of demand

Absolutely the right attitude!Ok - we might not fill it now - but 4-5 years of winning more trophies and you will see that change. United were nowhere relatively speaking with regards to fan base - 25 years on they are a massive global brand - that has to be our aim! We're 10 years in, with 15 to go, plenty of time to grow our status chelseafc9010
We Hate Scouse 10,327
A lot of grounds have been built with potential to be able to expand them further if needs be. This is an absolute must if we leave the Bridge.I think we will have absolutely no issue selling out 60k in a new/redeveloped stadium for 2-3 seasons at least. Fans that haven't been for years will be queuing for tickets to see the new stadium. If we're successful in those 2-3 years then the sell outs will continue. Not to mention if we drop ticket prices in some areas. I don't think selling out is an immediate concern at all. Muzchap
