Michael Carrick world class?

After one decent season are you kidding me? he's a passenger most of the time, he's certainly no Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes or Frank Lampard.

Vidic is a class centre back, but he's always injured, so he doesn't count.

Decent? No way. He clicked at the right time. This is the same way many people under-rate the role of a defensive midfielder. Not really saying he comes under the class of Stevie G or Scholesy or Lamps for that matter. Plus he doesn't even play the same role tbh ! They're a class above, but if there was a category just below world-class, you can slot Carrick in. He performed right when Fergie wanted him to. It'll take a big man to do it again and I don't think Moyes can do that. You take Carrick away from the team than RVP could score as many goals as he wants, but it would mean nothing when his defense are picking balls up from the net.

Last season they were conceding 2 goals at home to Braga....

Churn out results? It's mere luck (and a lot of help from their pals at the FA).

That's once instance, they had a +42 goal difference, best in the league for a reason. not Fergie, but that excellent defensive coach at United.

Now come on, lets not bring on the hate. we got to be honest, they do get decisions but that comes down to mostly Fergie's intimidating stature rather than having help from the FA. Champions are the one's who treat every game the same, no mattter how bad. this comes only due to the manager having a strong effect on the players. I don't have enough fingers on my hand to count how many times our own Chelsea boys have played without passion and interest !

I can't bother writing an enormous explanation

read: www.diminbeirut.typepad.com. This has everything. 4/5 articles on Man United.

http://sabotagetimes.com/reportage/referees-are-manchester-united-biased-heres-the-evidence-from-qualified-refs/ (This one is good too)

Read the articles. Then comment. I'm sure they will have an effect on your opinion.

So getting lucky is the ability to "churn out results"

so when someone wins the lottery that means they are good at "churning out results". :P

Don't want to argue mate. I refuse to believe that corruption has crept into English football. What are we? Italians? ;)

Pointing to that article, read it long ago, and I have laughed at loopholes. For once United has been compared to the weighted average and not individual teams.

I have been a strong follower of this site for a long time , have a look - http://www.refereedecisions.co.uk/

it provides a more clear and unbiased opinion.

So if he's not in their category how is he world class?

You are overrating United to the max. This is the team what scraped wins last season, under a very good manager. Now it's a different ball game. United will have to accept it's not there time anymore. We have better players than United in almost every area except for upfront, City are stronger in every area.

Even Spurs have a better side than United do right now. They will not be the force they once where, especially with them losing out on Rooney and having little chance of signing any quality players.

I hang my hands up. never said that they had better players than Chelsea , City or Spurs though. time will tell. hopefully all goes well for Chelsea. that's what matters at the end of the day. :)

So U mean all these referees like Jeff Winter disappear for no reason?

and those who favour United seem to stay?

Not to mention Fergie's political connections.

United is the most corrupt club in the world. Look at the heads of PGMOB, FA and PL. United owners or fans.

You're living in fantasy world if you think your team is stronger in every area other than striker. Absolute fantasy world. Take a look at your defense and DM... then take a look at your wingers.

And we score the same goal the same way everytime...? Have you any idea how hard that would be? Don't you think after the second time we did it teams would cotton on, and defend it? We must be so good. You're out of your league. You post some stupid page, and call us corrupt. What the actual fuck?

Staggering stupidity on display in this thread right now.

Well, everybody knows how much I hate ManUtd and how I think they had more than suspicious calls by officiating... just like everyone else does.

But one doesn't win so many times, becomes the club with the most national leagues out of luck... Those suspicious calls were just poor calls

I want ManUtd to never win even Charity Shield again, but to credit all their honors and glories to luck and corruption? It sounds bitter, childish and it makes us look worse.

If they're so average, then why haven't we won the title in the last few years? Yeah, the officiating in the first EPL match against them was ridiculous, but those 3 points weren't the difference between them and us at the end of the season. So if they're so average, shame on us, because regardless of how much they were "helped", as a team that is more than average we should have won our matches. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if they win their matches or not, if we keep drawing and losing ours... Or if ManC draws and loses theirs. Or the conspiracy theory goes as further as having referees to lead Chelsea, ManC, Arsenal, and Liverpool to lose their matches for 20 years? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I really feel sort of embarrassed when our fans resort to that kind of argument. It makes all of us look like sore losers.

And then I have to hear one of my friends who is a ManU fan telling me every single time we have referees making mistakes that favor us if Roman is now signing referees as well. She's very vocal about it because people are very vocal about bad calls favoring ManU... She knows I don't credit ManU titles to that, but I of course bitch about mistakes while watching the match. What some call lucky, I call being obstinate and just forcing the result. That's determination, hard work and of course, luck is an aspect. A minor one. One simply doesn't get lucky for so long.

Corruption is everywhere, I'm not naive to believe otherwise, but not to that extent and not to make a team like ManU reaching UCL finals - where I suppose SAF isn't as influential... for as long as human beings are the ones officiating there will be mistakes...

The difference between ManU squad and some others is that they were a team in the truest meaning of the word and that passes through SAF - who made so many mistakes in the last few years in many matches, but as they work as a team, and team that has a winning vocation and thirsty they just win.

I hope they don't win a title for the next 20 years though :P

Well you do have some valid points above. Just one little question here. We both know Manures have been receiving preferential treatments, decisions for years.

Just a few examples. The game is tied at 80th minute. Suddenly, a questionable call, a free kick.., is awarded & Manures scored.

The result: the three points are added to the stats. These occurrences happened 3-4 times a year & there is your advantage for Manures.

With Chelsea´s luck, most likely they are the 1st ones.

Not too long ago, you asked me about TFF. There you should see the total arrogance of Manure fans.

I don't need TFF to see their arrogance. I have real life examples. My school is full of "Man United" fans who don't even know who Ferguson is.

One of the guys told me:

"We are Manchester United and we are proud of bribing referees cos we win!"

Yup.

I would too.

Your post was top notch though. Well said. I can take that sort of post no problem. Even knowing you dislike us winning things, you're fair. It's not worth becoming some bitter fool, it really isn't.

Yup.

Most likely, half the FA board are ex-manures too.

Every forum I went to, manure fans were the biggest cunts there.

I can tolerate Liverpool, Spurs, even half the Arsenal fans are readable, but manures are just arrogant dimwits.
