You know, there is a difference between alright then and categorically no. We urgently needed two CBs, we needed back up or new LWB (depending on Chilwell status) and we needed midfielder, ( we got Saul last year) as well as striker. That was six players we would have signed regardless of the manager.

IF Tuchel was fully respected he would have got his six new players at the start of the transfer window not on the deadline day. Majority of our signings were Alright then and not his preferred  options. No manager would be stupid enough to consider KK as adequate replacement for Rudiger.

Fofana, maybe but there were reports board opted for him.

Is this Ronaldo story true? Tuchel said no and that's when they decided to fire him? After getting him 250 mill asset they fired him over Ronaldo? That just sounds stupid. I don't believe it.

Tuchel is very good coach. But we handed him very average players, looking at their behaviour on the pitch and their age, they look like pensioners  society more than a squad. 100 years old defence, 60 years old injury prone midfield, 34 years striker.... No manager would compete with this, sorry. Not even Klopp.

Those youngsters werent  Tuchel choice either.

Tuchel wanted eluseve targets. Was that his incapability to find more accessible targets, but alternatives are so bad that even his sacking afterwards made perfect sense.

The story was that Boehly & co wanted to get Ronaldo in as the marquee signing (from a jersey sales point of view) and by getting Ronaldo they would also be in Mendes good books for future transfers (as he's basically the hot line for most Portuguese based players).

Feel like Tuchel was let go because he had no plan B for our failures on the pitch.  Playing youngsters like Gallagher out of position was the first indication that he was losing it...the Leeds game was a sackable offense and then we got beaten by Southampton....and a number of users on Talk Chelsea mentioned that Tuchel's reign was likely coming to an end.

It's not the fact that we lost to Leeds, Southampton or Zagreb, it's the fact that we had ZERO ideas about how to score a goal and our defense was being killed by any team with a decent press.  Could you imagine us facing City or even Arsenal right now?

While Haaland is no doubt a monster, and everyone his raving about how he is going to break PL records, every striker will eventually be found out in the PL.

I'm not saying he is going to become useless all of sudden. Far from it.

But at this point in time, no back line in the PL has been able to come up with a strategy to deal with him.

Salah in his record breaking season was considered unstoppable, but he has been found out in the past couple of years IMO. Teams are able to put him off his game and restrict him from getting into great scoring positions.

The hot-streak that Haaland is on will eventually be broken. When it happens, it will be interesting to see how he adapts his play to still make himself useful for his team.

City scored 100 goals without him last season. They will have zero issue going back to their false 9 system

"IF Tuchel was fully respected he would have got his six new players at the start of the transfer window not on the deadline day"

What? What do you mean by this? 😵

This is real life not in football mamager world.

We really try to pursued first target. Do you just forget it? how many hours and days, Chelsea board try so many things to negotiate and persuade rapinha, de jong, and de light to name of few to be acquired

And about koulibaly, no one know how good or bad he would be if KK plays in the EPL. As an adequate substitute? Maybe yes maybe know. Nobody knows exactly. But beside de light, KK is considered as best possible target to to fill our cb spot isn't it?

About cucurela. What i remembered tuchel speak so highly about him, when he actually play right?

And about midfielder. I don't know. Something from tuchel comment, and the idea he actually tried to impelement on the pitch, make me feel he actually feel quite enough with our midfield option. Just want backup and number. Upgrade and change to higher quality midfielder like de jong feels like something nice to have but not absolute must.

And about tuchel get sacked. I believe and maybe hope, it's really nothing to do with ronaldo rumors at all.

The factor actually because the board and maybe many of us aswell, feel he isn't not the right man anymore. He keep getting stuck with same thing, don't have solution, can't help and improve any player anymore even since a year ago. We keep playing shit football more than a year. Do you even watch how bad our team performance was? It's like more than a year, consistently our team show that kind of same struggle and lackluster performance.

When nothing changes it's not just alarming, but some action need to be taken

Tbf Salah even though found out scored plenty of goals last season. Still golden boot and all. Just for some reason made out to be a bit poor lately but mainly cause they're not focuses on what he doesn't do rather then what he does.

I don't know if the transfers were the problem or the style (which was missing)
During the first 6-7 games we looked terrible without a clear idea of how to attack, the ball was mainly going back and to the side. Everton (pen)   West Ham (VAR save us)
In 18 months we never managed to build any recognizable style of play like Arteta did at Arsenal. Today you are with lukaku , next game you are with Havertz , next game you are with Werner
You know who  is your attacker  and how you will play.
Nothing was ever certain with us in these 18 months under Tuchel .

Arteta took more than 2 whole seasons to reach the level they are at now. For most of that time, they were playing boring football.

Arteta also renewed Aubameyangs contract only to fall out with him and dump him later

Real shame that we never gave our manager the same amount of time and chances to rectify things. Hopefully Potter doesn't run into the same problem.

As I've mentioned a few times (with resistance from a few), Haaland will be almost invisible & these spells happen at Dortmund. His overall play is far behind the likes of Mbappe & it will become more evident as the season goes along/against better teams.

With regards to Salah, his game has evolved quite a bit year on year at Liverpool, with making chances being almost as important as scoring. He's getting criticised for his supposed lack of impact, yet he had most chances created prior to the weekend.

I love the commentary here on Haaland.  As if Haaland wouldn't walk into our side and be the starting striker for the next decade.

We're stuck with the German golden boy upfront but he seems allergic to actually scoring goals yet City have the alien up front who will end up with 15+ goals every season just from being in the right position at the right time.  De Bruyne will feed him chances on a platter with his top class delivery.

Think ppl are trying to make themselves feel better, invisible in some games or not he's a different level to any striker in this league

I guess you're both calling out my post.

I clearly mentioned that I don't think he's ever going to stop being a good player.

I'm only referring to his current unstoppable run where he seems to break every single PL goal scoring record, and the fact that it looks too easy for him at the moment.

Nowhere did I say he is invisible or useless. And yes, he is much better than anyone we have. A point so obvious,  that it doesn't even need to be made.

All this talk Tuchel couldn't improve players. I get it , but who he could  improve? Honestly? Was it Tuchel's inability to improve or it was our squad, that is worse this year than the last.

What makes you think Tuchel inherited good squad? CL? It was the last shout from somewhat good team. Just like the previous one.

It was last shout from our best CBs that were our rock and comparative advantage over PL teams. Their head wasn't here afterwards.

IT was last shout from our midfielders, who still were influential, healthy,  and had more good appearances than bad. Afterwards their form went downhill or they started getting injured far more frequently. Now days Jorginho, Kante even Kovacic are shadows of their CL selves and even you can't deny it.

That's why I was so upset last summer. I even called Tuchel sacking. I knew very well, that we needed to improve the team or we are  midtable . Last summer was turning point. It was to be or not to be moment. We failed to improve squad and this is dearly price we are going to pay.

260 mill squad to miss CL is nothing unexpected. This summer we really had no chance of getting established players. I don't blame Boehly.

Damage is done and this squad is worse, far worse than CL team and there is little Tuchel could do. I'm afraid writings are on the wall for mister Potter. 6-9 place . Will that be acceptable for new owners, we will see. But we really need miracle to avoid needing 6 players next summer. Without CL.

Tuchel had best players when he came, they got worse season after and even worse season after. Little chance for improvement if any.

Tbf anyone who can actually find the net rather then either go wide..over or at the goalie is better then anyone we have atm...unfortunately

Håland

100 goals in his last 99 topflight games for 2 clubs (Dortmund and Citeh)

120 goals in last 120 games when Norway (hardly a powerhouse side) goals are added in
