I think it's pretty obvious that United are using this journo as their mouthpiece. He didn't just make this story up off the top of his head. Someone's obviously feeding him this.

What the Guardian have reported is news we read week or 2 ago. It's PR and everyone now needs Rooney to speak up, or make his move.
