Im resigned to this happening now.

All im going to say is i hope you are all feeding me humble pie come May.

You Hope.. ???

Ok you don't think its a great transfer. But put it this way. Is he better than the options we have... Yes. So whatever he does its not like we would have done better without him, and his addition could be exactly whay we need.

But why would you actually want it to go wrong?

Ofcourse i hope, im not petty enough to actually want him to flop just to be able to say i told you so.

He maybe better options than what we have, but we will be after half of Europe if we base strikers on that (Lukaku has a great future, but he is too raw to be #1 right now).

Bad news for United if true. Is Moyes just a puppet?

Of course he is a puppet — he's Ferguson's puppet. The latter man has most certainly left his job because he couldn't go any further because of his health condition (and I believe because he knew that an area was about to end and wanted to leave United on a high). I genuinely reckon that he'd have stayed had he had the possibility — his new place within the board hints in this sense.

Ferguson is all but idiot. He knows that Moyes isn't ready to take the United's job. So, in short, Ferguson will still be their for the grand scheme while Moyes will be the one on the bench and the end to train players every days.

If you will, Moyes is to Ferguson what Jordi Roura was to Tito.

Ferguson will fully disapear when Moyes will be "old" enough or when they will have a manager competent enough.

For now, I reckon that United's place in the table will depend on the proportion of Ferguson's implication within the managerial role.

Guys you underestimate United too much.I agree they have weak squad, but they had it last season too.Of course, there was SAF but do you really think that team can win League just by manager ? I don't think so.United have good players, they have a lot of old players who have experience, but they have young potential players too.

However,I think they will be 3rd,just behind us and Man.City and if we don't sign Rooney it's not the end of the world,we have R.Lukaku,a great young player who can play in first team,we have great backup,Demba Ba,and we have our third option F.Torres-to my regret

as if rooney wouldnt try to play as good as possible and just chill on the bench. if he stays, he will give his all. also he hasnt hand in a transfer request yet..so maybe his desire isnt that big to move.

You're trying to put words in my mouth - I never said Rooney wouldn't perform to his best. All I'm saying is that it isn't as black and white as you're making it out to be - you could be right, I could be right. Thing is, nobody knows except for Rooney and his camp right now. As I've said before, the ball is in his court. If he really wanted to move he'll put in a transfer request. If not then obviously he wasn't really up for the move in the first place. We won't know until the window's shut or until the Rooney camp come out and make a statement either way.

Just seen some bothering news from the Arsenal camp, that they had a £40,000,001 offer for Suarez decisively turned down. This means they could just turn around and now make a move for Rooney. What if all of a sudden they put £35 million on the plate, and tap him up right in front of our noses?

United will be much more willing to sell to Arsenal, since they're not title contenders. Arsenal have also made it clear that they can meet Rooney's wage demands.

Just a scenario.

I don't post much and prefer to read the forum which I've been glued to over the last 10-11 days.

Judging by the rumours and the behaviour of Rooney it looks like he is prolonging this just as a cause to get more money from United. I hate to say it but I highly doubt he'll be joining; I think Manures will offer him a new contract and everything will be 'dandy' as far as mufc are concerned.

Albeit saying this I really hope I'm wrong as Rooney would be great for Chelsea, but I thought I'd throw my opinion out there.

Honestly, i don't think Manures will pay him more than he is earning now. I'll be stupid for to offer him more than £200,000 a week for Chelsea

I think Rooney would rather stay at United than go to Arsenal to be fair.

This is getting worse by the day.

If Suarez gets sold for some huge figure, why would United sell Rooney for any less?

Now United's official twitter is hyping up Rooney's return. Think he may actually end up staying now after all this shit that's gone on.

Just about ALL top strikers will be gone.

Its alright saying if we dont get Roo we will have hurt Utd anyway but we are not strong enough up front for this season. If he doesnt come in and we get no one else it'll be my one concern

I disagree. With or without Rooney, our attack will be centered around our attacking midfielders and the vast majority of our goals will always come from midfield. I honestly believe that any improvement in the striker department would only be a marginal one.

Excuse me, but don´t you think Chelsea needs a striker who can convert all those chances created by the mid fielders ?

Like I said, that would be a marginal improvement as the vast majority of the chances will fall to the attacking midfielders themselves,
