Why exactly?

I know Barcelona had some pretty great Brazilian footballers recently, but you would have to think the fact his buddy/mentor Robinho was a Madrid guy would weigh more heavy on him.

because he thinks messi ist the best footballer. dani alves playing there etc. also his coach said barca would suit him more etc.

Do you think there's any chance in the slightest that he might consider us at all :( I remember him referring to us positively and also talking to our brazilian contingent about London

He would accept going to Chelsea, for sure! :)

But...Do we need Neymar when we have Hazard? I dont think so!

The same goes for Real, will he have space in the same position CR7 plays? Not really!

But there are some players who are just so good (like once or twice in a generation of players) that you simply have to go for regardless of the existing squad - and I believe Neymar and Hazard to be tactically flexible enough, since they are so intelligent! Here's hoping he does a Robinho with Barca and signs with us :D

I don't think Neymar will move anywhere before Confederations Cup. Santos and investors are hoping he will perform well and increase his value.

Barcelona's vice-president of football is having a meeting with Santos' president since 4pm (it is now 7:30pm). It is rumoured that this will be it, he will either go now or the negociations are over until January (where he will be able to sign for free).

Santos want 30mi and Barcelona only want to pay 25mi (at maximum). However, they might throw a 26.5mi or whatever, so Santos can say they 'won' the negociation (because we know how egos behave).

You have no idea how happy I would be to see this thread locked and you kissing his ass in one or two years time!!!

UPDATE: Barcelona have offered a two leg friendly to complement the 25mi euros and Santos seemed to have reacted absurdly positive about it. Globo saying it is pratically a done deal and they have created a timeline in their website, with live updates to try to be the first to announce it (just like SkySports do on transfer deadline day)!

Seems like just yesterday we were talking about £50m for Neymar. Seems crazy now that he'll go for just a it more than Oscar.

Those numbers never existed, only media bullshit!

Neymar's buyout clause was around 65mi euros, so imagine how stupid those rumors of 80mi were...

5-year deal. £21m. Could rise to £24m. Barcelona & Santos to play 2 friendlies as part of the deal. Done.

£2m more than Oscar. I don't even know what to think about that lol.

Isn't it a bit strange that he's so keen to go to a team that's already at its peak and has multiple superstars already on the roster?

If I were him I'd prefer to go to a place where can be the featured guy in a team that has great potential. Like here :).

Don't exactly know where he'd fit, but surely with all of his mates here and the chance to work under Jose must tempt him?

It is what Folha de Sao Paulo (kind of our NYT) are saying, spot on!

25mi euros, raising up to 28mi with bonuses + 2 friendlies...DONE!

Santos might only announce it on Monday though!

I think la liga suits him better, but he will always be under Messi's shadow. Even someone like iniesta and messi are.
