Literally 2 surefire goals, but no one brings it up because they kept feeding him the ball and he got one to go. Thats how it is for most strikers out there, if you don't score goals, you have to accept the criticism. 27 minutes ago, Thor said: The reality is, the tide of the game is not lost up front, but in the middle That's partly true and mainly due to Lavia not being available...which has meant way more minutes for Enzo-Caicedo to handle. It really is a shame that we lost Kante and Kovacic, all that midfield experience gone.
Pizy 18,908
What we need is to do with Jackson what Pep has done with their striker situation. They have Haaland as their first choice #9 and had Julian Alvarez who they’re now finally replacing with Marmoush as the backup option. Nico needs to be our Alvarez/Marmoush. Someone who still gets lots of minutes but isn’t someone we depend solely on as our primary goal scorer because he’s not elite. Obviously we ain’t gonna get an alien like Haaland but there are absolutely elite level finishers out there if we pay the money. We’ve been willing to pay 100m+ for midfielders so I don’t see why our board are so blind to the fact that we may need to do so for a match winning goal scorer. robsblubot

Nico needs to be our Alvarez/Marmoush Alvarez was one of the better young strikers out there, part of the reason why he pushed for the move to Spain instead of hanging around as 2nd to Haaland. Not sure if Nico could play that sort of role, seems like he's the type that needs to start.

And reckon they miss Alvarez a lot more than they expected to. The hard work Jackson puts in esp in pressing high would also be missed. Jackson is often the only player pressing high, which is just wrong as a team. Edited January 17 by robsblubot

OneMoSalah 8,886
Not Jacksons fault but Maresca being over reliant on him will shoot us in the foot now barring Nkunku somehow getting into match rhythm from the get go with this injury. whats happening

The bigger problem is when he did the injury Enzo kept him on for another 30-40 mins or so plus half time. It was clear when he did it that he had a problem with his hamstring. A responsible manager would've taken him off straight away. OneMoSalah
Special Juan 28,141
No sympathy what so ever because we are going to suffer more now and we all seen this coming. He's fucking shite but he offers more than Nkunku and the hurt is going to be real because we are penny pinching cunts. OneMoSalah
Vesper 30,177
we are so so fucked at CF we need to sign a free agent for the rest of the season
Special Juan 28,141
A free agent would be too expensive for us, and the fact it has come to the fact it has to be considered tells you everything. Appauling

Blue Armour 4,439
Even if Jackson is the Maresca’s perfect forward, he needs some kind of reliable backup or competition in the striking department. Nkunku had downed tools. We need someone either with plenty of experience like Giroud, or a proven talent.

Blue Armour 4,439
Remember all those stories we used to hear about Lampard and Drogba staying late after training sessions., simply to work on their shooting with both left foot and right foot? Yeah, I don't think Jackson does that.
Special Juan 28,141
I'm just not having him one bit as a striker that will improve himself, us or fire over 25 goals a season. I will hit the fucking roof if we do not buy a 9 this summer. LAM09 and OneMoSalah 1

Said in another thread, if Petro & Sancho are starting every week for us next season we are doomed. Throw this guy in on top also.
