The Next Manager?

Because it's suicide for the manager to take over now, spurs background + emotions of this season + loosing will just ruin any chance of a turn around next season, the fans and media will be on his back straight away. He needs to come in when the players are fresh in mind and body and hopefully completely change the mentality here, do you want to potentially ruin that for the sake of a few games that mean absolutely nothing?

I don’t disagree with this reasoning, but ffs Lampard appointment has been so bad, it is quite likely we won’t win another game this season.

I believe the fans want to see the 'kids' show off their skill without fear and pressure from the stands. If communicated to the fans correctly they will be ok with it.

Bolax. The crowd turned against Sarri despite objective improvements from the previous season in almost every metric and the 'academy eight' the following year even when they were exceeding immediate expectation.

Pochettino comes in and "plays the kids" with minimal to no improvement they'll be getting booed off to the sound off "fuck Poch ball" in May vs Newcastle.

For me there is only one man for the job right now: Jose Mourinho.

He has Chelsea connections, he was there in the beginning of Roman Abramovich era, and he knows what it took to turn this club into a powerhouse. He wont take shit from Todd Boehly and still has massive support from fan base.

While I like Pochettino, I think he will survive a single season if he is appointed.

Football moved on from Mourinho longtime ago. At least top level English football is not suited for his style. New manager has to compete with maniacs like Klopp and Pep who drill pressing patterns and attacking movement to their players. We need a coach who's able to think of the way the game is played today.

Even in 2013 when Mou returned, his methods worked for one year. But the club lost two of its best youngsters in that period. I can see the same repeating in this decade if Mou is brought back.

Ironically, Mourinho is the reason why I think Pochettino will do great things.

If a serial winner like Mourinho can look so bad at Spurs, Pochettino must have been doing something right.

All the 'proper chels' who were beating their chests when Lampard was appointed have melted away as usual. best place for him is back in the studio with Rio and Stevie Me. Hopefully we can stop this nominate a 'legend' BS every time we're in strife also. lets see over the years theres been:  Dennis Wise, Steve Clarke, Brendan Rogers (its true when he was at Swansea he was touted as a future Chelsea coach) John Terry, Frank Lampard, Gianfranco Zola, basically any ex Chelsea player who has coaching badges to bring back the passion! I dont blame Terry for staying well clear of it. Its nearly as bad as when some say we should get bang average players because their known to be Chelsea fans.

Fair comment and I take your point but wouldn't it be better to say 'thanks Frank' now and get a proper managers tactics on board as soon as?

No. If not for any other reason, then having 5(!) managers in a single season would be beyond embarrassing.

The guy who can't coach attack to save his life? The thing that needs coaching the most in our team. 🤦‍♂️ The last time we were in such a rut it was Mourinho's last season. Have you forgotten that? Think we were 1-2 places above relegation when palpable discord happened. He had a far superior team back then and they looked absolutely hopeless.

We need a man that can build a team using young players. Mourinho is great at getting the best out of experienced players. No way he would work right now at Chelsea.

At this point, appointing anyone bar Pochettino would be a huge gamble and would kill the last bit of hope that we still have.

Bar Harry Kane i cant see where are others Poch youngsters, he developed..

Quote from a 2015 article:

"Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Nabil Bentaleb are all aged 22 or younger. Érik Lamela and Christian Eriksen are 23, Ryan Mason 24 and the full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker both 25. Even the goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and experienced centre-half Jan Vertonghen are under 30.

The average age of Tottenham’s team against Manchester City in September was 24 years and 40 days, the youngest in the top flight this season, if still marginally older than the club’s youngest starting XI in Premier League history, which stands at 23 years and 97 days against Sheffield Wednesday in 1992."

+ Son was 22 when Spurs signed him.
