But yeah it can't be a full time gig even if we win the UCL as eventually we will end up in the same position as late 2020/early 2021.

Don't think there is a any possibility for that but if he somehow do good you can bet huge group of fans would call for his stay.

But that will be prevented before, as I'm sure club will announce new manager for next season maybe later in April, maybe early in May.

He'd only be considered with a CL win im sure

No chance, since I'm sure new manager would be signed and announced while Lamps is still here. Bayern did this a couple of years ago.

That would be ideal

You wanted time for a permanent manager to be instated - so give it time.

Getting Lamps in to motivate in the time being and light a fire is the best thing for now.

This is exactly what Pat Nevin said - take your time, rush into it and it can be a costly mistake. Having Frank as interim is a prudent pragmatic approach.

Thinking too much! Analyzing too much! Stop complains and support the team. We have to see how it goes before critising everything.

From when we become a soccer expert compared to Frank?

my oh my.... I read this forum, and enjoy all of the differing opinions........

I know I don't post a lost but I shall chime in here.

Many here say that our club has lost its passion, leadership and is a rudderless shit show of entitled social media obsessed lazy little kids who have no idea what this club is about   ........ "prime Drogba...... Prime Terry la la la  would make a difference......"

And many believe the all time top goalscorer of this club (211 if i'm not mistaken).... from fucking midfield ! .... doesn't have it within him to show some of the aforementioned passion and pride for this club that everyone begged for whilst under potter.

....... for a handful of matches?

Good luck super frank....... Chels through and through!! KTBFHH

It wasn't that long ago that many of us feared that Chelsea FC may cease to exist.

If I was to be super optimistic, it depends on how you see things - if Nags/Enrique declined joining now (there was such rumor) or the board got fixated on the mission of destroying the club aka looking for someone more adequate for long term vision we need a caretaker till end of season anyway. Whatever Bruno had to do, Frank may be do better just due to his experience

Stopped reading after this. Experience? What experience? 2 sackings? 2 lost dressing rooms? 2 soft soft teams who looked devoid of ideas and any spirit. Sure

Or this is a hoodwink. Owners know a transfer ban is coming for their spending. They’ve got Lampard since he has navigated this situation before 😀

I actually like this for the rest of the season.

The players need someone who will explain to them how privileged they are to play here and what it means to be a Chelsea player.

Our players don't lack skill. They lack heart and grit. Getting a legend in to tell you that you're a spoilt sack of shit and playing like one might be what lights a fire.

This theory was already disproved couple of years ago. This DNA nonsense is what got Frank to the club in the first place and has been hired again now without too much of a recruitment process.

I said he has experience, not that he is a good manager 🤪

Bruno is coaching staff member, Lampard was an actual manager, so yeah, he has some experience - knows how organize work, how to handle pressure, how to handle press, how to talk to players and won't get caught with easiest of tricks pulled on him. Basics. May be not great, but at least not lost in the dark.

Still think he will be taken bit more seriously than Bruno with all respect, and perhaps Potter as well, so will take some pressure off from player's minds. Yet I'd of course prefer proper manager.

I read see this kind of opinions more and more often recently and can't resist the feeling it's not quite true. We are not PSG/Madrid kind of starlet affair due to thank god quite cautious recruitment in terms of mentality. Being depressed/unmotivated due to internal issues at the club, lack of leadership, clear plan, atmosphere and energy is quite different thing, than having one's head in their ass. This is generalization ofc, but we are not the team of 26 Dembele's in his prime shithousery phase (and actually luckily avoided buying him after all).

I admit I am biased, but I love this guy and hoping he'll do well.

If you look at his results, they are not very bad comparing to the ones who came after him.
