The Next Manager?

Knew I'd seen it somewhere before, it was a copy and paste brief!

🤬🤢

️Chelsea believe the main reason for their stop-start season has been the unplanned change of coach which the club were forced into when Enzo Maresca effectively quit.

️Chelsea did not choose Rosenior, who signed a contract until 2032, from sister club Strasbourg as a three- or four-month appointment and were understanding of the fact that he needs time.

️Chelsea believe that Liam Rosenior is open to feedback and constructive criticism, and are confident that he can quickly learn from mistakes.

️While Chelsea’s aim is to qualify for the Champions League, Rosenior’s future does not depend on it and he would not be held solely responsible for missing out, having only taken over in January.

️Chelsea still have a better points-per-game average (1.7) than they did under Enzo Maresca (1.6) this season.

️Mike Penders is likely to return from his season-long loan at Strasbourg to compete for the No 1 spot, with a decision yet to be taken on whether to try to sign a new goalkeeper.

️Chelsea view this summer as being critical in terms of recruitment with the club desperate to improve the mental resilience of the squad and provide Rosenior with a better balance of options.

️Chelsea will look to sign at least one new central defender and want to add a midfielder and a forward.

🤬🤢Liam Rosenior’s position as Chelsea head coach is currently viewed as being SECURE even if the club miss out on qualifying for the Champions League.

Chelsea do not plan to review Liam Rosenior’s performance formally before the summer of 2027 and have no intention of making a change at the end of this season.

The only scenario in which that stance could change would be if Chelsea were to implode over the final weeks of the season, but there is no expectation of that happening.

(@Matt_Law_DT)

And they'll post the same for Roseniors replacement next season

They've trashed our club

😵💥@Matt_Law_DT on Liam Rosenior's tactics: “You can tell they [Chelsea players] don't believe in it. The way they're not carrying out instructions, how they're not really recovering from anything tells you they don't actually believe in the way they're being asked to play.”

Tbf thats poor from the players. Regardless of what folk think of the manager.

When 75% of the players have been an absolute disgrace for seasons now I find it hard to believe they have any right to question anything their being asked to do.

This isn’t a group of guys like JT, Didier, Frank & Cech etc who have won everything. Its a group of absolute nobodies who have won a Conference League & pishy reformatted Club World Cup.

Maybe that's the reason why they are acting like that, they won 2 cup competitions (one in a lengthy pre-season) and they think they made it big time.

No 'experienced' players to keep them in check and push them to achieving their potential.

I think a saw an article say that our oldest players were Sanchez, Tosin, Cucurella. 😆

yes, the entire team is all Gen Z

not one is born in the last Millennial birth-year (1996) or before

Sterling was the last Millennial on the roster

before him we had 3 Millennials who left last summer, Marcus Bettinelli, Kepa, and Chilwell (barely for Chilly, as if he was born 11 days later, he would have been Gen Z)

before them, we still had only one more, Romelu Lukaku, who left 2 summers back

you have to go back 3 summers ago to when many left

That screenshot shows what is wrong with this club.    I'd say only 4 players from that list should be on the first team XI every game.     Cucu, Reece, Enzo and Pedro.   Maybe 5 if you include Neto as our only fit winger.

Standards have dropped since Roman left.

🗯🔵Sources say that Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Edin Terzic are under consideration as possible replacements for Liam Rosenior.

(@NizaarKinsella)

💣💨Julian Naglesmann is not interested in taking over Chelsea. (@Matt_Law_DT)

🚨Eddie Howe, Francesco Farioli, Filipe Luís and McKenna all have admirers within the club and have come up in discussion for previous vacancies.

💥🔵There is recognition that Chelsea cannot bring in another coaching team with no top-level experience to replace Rosenior and the search for his successor is expected to centre around finding a candidate who has proved they could cope with the demands of a big club and the Premier League.

(@Matt_Law_DT)

Marco Silva,Terzic, Iraola, Glasner,McKenna That's not it at all.

Some of these names are depressing. Not a single one that would give any Chelsea supporters genuine excitement or belief that things can definitely be turned around.

The fact that a guy who hasn’t even managed 2 years in Terzić is even a name linked is insane. And if memory serves he didn’t exactly leave Dortmund on great terms.

Whilst I think the current 4 PL managers that are being named (Iraola, Howe, Marco Silva, and Glasner) may be able to steady things and get us competitive again, would I be at all confident that any of these guys could take us to the level that we aspire to return to? Nope.

There really doesn’t seem to be any manager out there that could make the Chelsea fanbase stop and think “oh, wow, maybe BlueCo really are serious now.” These are all yet more “hope and pray they work out” level candidates.

Is there a seriously good manager who's available?

Of course, the board is approaching this with zero long-term planning. Any serious operation would be constantly working behind the scenes to make sure they have an idea, direction when there's a need to change manager. By all accounts, these guys were twiddling their thumbs after patting themselves on the back for hiring Rosenior.

💥🔵Andoni Iraola is a leading candidate to become the next Chelsea boss. TalkSPORT understands Iraola is the leading candidate.

️He's a better choice than Marco Silva, Terzic, Howe, Glasner, and McKenna

Available, no. But it used to be when Chelsea needed a manager we could go to someone who was currently employed at another big club and convince them to come here.

As in the mud as we are currently I would hope that these guys at least make some top level managers laugh in their faces and tell them no. If they offer enough money and control you never know if one might actually say yes.

But it’s seeming more and more like Iraola will be the guy.
