The Next Manager?

Well, we're not in a rush, as the new manager will not have to think about which players we are going to buy anyway. Also the players who will be sold or loaned should be decided after the pre season. Take it easy for now.

Don't think there is any question marks anymore over who is going to be the next manager. It is clear for me to see that as soon as he gets back from his holiday, Lamps is going to take over here.

If he's a good manager or not, I do not know yet, time will tell, all I hope he brings back the good mood at the club and flushes away all the negativity.

For me having a good manager and a top squad is just 40-50% in sports. You look at Liverpool, they would be nothing what they are at this point w/o Klopp's influence in creating a perfect environment full of optimism and good mood.

I can even give another example in Romania's U21 team that just beat England 4-2 a few days ago. The squad is not wow, but the atmosphere and the emulation created around this team by a whole country is simply out of this world. 20M+ Romanians breath through this team at the moment, it is simply madness what happens in Romania at the moment and it's just the U21s.

But as I said, the squad is not wow, lots are playing in the very, very poor Romanian league and they are also missing their star man, Ajax's Razvan Marin, but they have raised their level through a top atmosphere. It is what I hope Lamps can replicate.

In the video with Rio, Drogba definitely knows what is happening.

Ohh he most def knows something.......why are the Derby fans so upset of that vid? Its not exactly news he will be a Chels manager. You will get your compen and that will be that. I dont see the disrespect.

To be fair, we already have a number of ex players working at the club - e.g. Ferreira, Cudicini, Hilario (is Eddie Newton still at the club?). We are just bringing back the bigger names for bigger roles, I guess.

Right I'm a cynical fucker most Chelsea old boys are. So Lamps as manager, Jody Morris as no 2, Cech as I can't be bothered typing what his official job title is, Makelele back (who's hardly had a glittering coaching career ) some fans want Drogba involved as well. So a load of inexperienced coaches and let's be honest it smells of jobs for the boys are somehow going to steer the ship in the right direction just because their ex players Take Cech for example everyone is saying what a great decision it is to bring him back why ? he's spent all his career playing at the highest level has he any experience in buying and selling players or knowing the ins and outs of the transfer market no he doesn't.

History dictates that bringing back ex players never works Ole at the mancs is proof of that and John Hollins put us back 10 years the cunt.  I'm 100% behind Lamps but don't for a moment that bringing back ex players is some sort of Chelsea Nirvana. I don't think our younger fanbase know the meaning of patience so if I'm wrong feel free to post this as many times if things are great next season, if not just remember a young inexperienced manager is taking one of the most prestigious jobs in world football.

I get your point but Cech's a highly intelligent man with a good knowledge of football, he is simply there to assist with performance analysis and advisory role.  think he may have a say in recruitment too but he is not the negotiator so to speak, but then again Marina had never ever done anything of the sort before coming with Roman, and she is a good negotiator - have to get experience somewhere, and where better than your club.

I can also understand the "jobs for the boys" line when it comes to Morris, Makelele, Drogba etc but i think Morris is almost a necessity if we plan to bring 3 or 4 youth players into the squad next year.  Knows them better than most. Not totally convinced yet that Drogba or Makelele will infact return.

I imagine Lampard will bring Morris, Jones and shay Given with him. Johnny Hollins was a total different era of course, although he did win the Full members cup in that epic v City lol

But they won't be under the scrutiny that the likes of Lamps, Maka, Cech etc will be. If you asked any football fan about Hilario they wouldn't have a clue who he was to be honest I didn't know he was still at the club. Hilario is such such a nobody he's not even a household name in his own household.
