Ultimately we need to tap into our best youth. Results wise we have the best set of youngsters in this country since the Busby babes and have to take advantage of that. Our current youngsters with the experience of Azpi, Pedro, Kante, Luiz and even Willian alongside them in the squad has the potential to be as good as the Ajax/Monaco sides that go to CL semi's and unlike them we will be able to keep the lads after the breakthrough season if/when it comes and enjoy them in their primes. Should these lads reach their potential that will more than make up for our financial handicap in the market these days compared to the big boys.

Putting the situation into that sort of context, Lampard with Morris and Edwards is the perfect set up right now, we can't waste these obscenely talented lads, we just can't.

I would have thought the club would want to confirm Lampard before Kovacic, but I'd be amazed if he isn't in place ready for pre season which is what, Monday?

They had to seal the Kovacic deal by Sunday or we would not have been able to keep him as a 'registered' player due to the bans. His contract terminated on Monday, the 1st of July.

Yeah I'm aware of that, would just make more sense of Lampard here first else there will be the usual media bollocks around the club where it's a signing being forced upon Lampard before he's even arrived.

The most logical sequence would be Cech, then Lampard, then Kovacic. Let's see what happens...

surely they will have consulted Lamps before before making Kovacic official. Also what alternative did we have.

From what I understand, Lamps wanted Kovacic, if that helps.

I guess we turned ourselves in to a rookie club. Rookie director, rookie coach, rookie players. Mixed with poor/finished players and Marina.

This is a entire new direction that even Spuds and Liverpool haven't done.

But what can you do with that ban.

Genuinely curious, are you ever in a positive mood?

Yes. One or two points last season.

But honestly, the last time I was genuinely excited with this club and couldn't wait for the season to start was 2014/15 when we brought in Costa and Fabregas.

I'm sorry, but it's hard to be positive when you have newbies running the club. They were fantastic legends on the pitch, but off the pitch is entirely different. It's a shame people are falling for the nostalgia of just seeing Lampard again. First average season as coach, and he gets the keys to the city.

But whatever, like last season I've ruled us out of top 4 and not getting any trophies next season.

I totally get you man, but it will be fine. Its a write off next season, simple as that. But it will likely be a roller coaster and we just might surprise a few, young acadamy players finally given a chance in mass, a proper Chels legend leading them, there will be no expectations etc.......lets give it a go ha. I rather this than having Sarii staying, with these players and his inept stubborn tactics with the ban in our throats......it would very very fast become a nightmare and the sack in-coming. At the end of day, it is what it is mate.
