killer1257 3,282
As Pep likes inteligent and technical players IF he's going here I think we should make a following changes :GK : Thibaut is all right but if he wants better ball playing gk then it looks like Ter Stegen is availableDF : Christensen is a must-have as he's very good ball playing DF. New CB to partner him. New RB as I think he won't fancy Azpilicueta technical skills.MF : New CM. Musonda would play big role under Pep I think as he's tactically and technically excellent with crazy ball skills and ball retention. Wonder what will happen with Fabregas.AM : only like for like replacement for Oscar if he won't perform in the next 6 months. Like him or not, he's one of the most intelligent players in our squad off the ball so if he will perform he would stay under GuardiolaCF : definitely new striker needed. Benzema could be available as Real will chase Lewandowski. Benz is one of the most technical strikers around. All in all I think about 4-5 players plus two youngsters in Christensen and Musonda. 10 players is definitely overboard.Actually if you think about it even Man City needs 4-5 players for the first XI to appease Pep.I doubt that he would sell Thibaut. That would be too stupid.Defense:I think that if Guardiola gives everyone a chance in training in order to see who is good enough for Chelsea,I think tht Christensen should have the potential to actually be a starter under Guardiola because basically he has everything what Guardiola asks from a defender.Agressive defending, very technically gifted and his build up play is brilliant.Terry and Ivanovic should be on the bench if Guardiola decides to come here.I am not so sure about Zouma either because he is not that skilled on the ball, but maybe his athleticism could impress Pep.Midfield: Guardiola would most likely get a heart attack when he sees that Matic slows down the ball too much,so Matic would be a liability for his system.I do not really know what he would do with Cesc, but Musonda should be a real prospect for him because like you said,Musonda has everything what Guardiola looks in a midfielder.Striker:I am very sure that he would need a top striker with brilliant technical skills, but I am not sure if there is a type of player that is on the market and has actually the profile of a Guardiola type of striker. Popular Post! Barbara 15,149 Posted December 22, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted December 22, 2015 he's not even here - and could never be - but only the prospect of Guardiola really coming already changed my heart a bit about him.I hate him with a passion - as the SOB he is and I have a few questions about his quality when he did what he did to that perfect Bayern team in less than 6 months. He's not bad, I just don't think he's as good as people claim him to be.All that said, he's the best option to be our permanent choice. Klopp would have always been my preference, but that ship already sailed. It's unbelievable - I should stop posting my intolerance towards players/managers I hate saying I won't watch the team with them, I always suck in even before they're here. So all my posts about how I'd have a very hard time watching my team managed by Pep? All BS now and the guy could end up not even coming.Once the guy becomes a Blue it becomes very hard to carry on hating them - only Benitez made the exception. Still can't stand his face. kiwi1691, Essien19, Muzchap and 3 others
petre.ispirescu 4,928
Love him or hate him, but no one can hide the fact that the guy is a genius. I'm sure he'll be adored here should he take over from Guus. He'd transform Chelsea in ways nodody would have ever imagined. The fact that EPL is different from other leagues and his tactics would not work here are just stories, he'll easily find ways to adapt to English football and be successful. That's what he does, evolves with every year that goes by and finds answers to everything they throw at him.http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/how-pep-has-evolved-leaving-barca-and-how-his-tactics-could-fare-england#:xQZTc6Gs5jOZ6Qhttp://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/9-pep-guardiola-formations-last-year-demonstrating-bayern-munichs-tactical-flexibility#:RYvXMP5fYfOZ6Ahttp://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/guardiola-doesnt-need-centre-backs-and-heres-why#:cWFVRIFeZVOZ6Ahttp://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/6-things-you-genuinely-might-not-know-about-pep-guardiola#:WanNCHrM_1OZ6A MefiX19 and Tomo
Fernando 6,585
I'll take Sampaoli. That's a more realistic target then Pep.But he will need time to adjust to Europe and to mention the language. This is why I said it would be better to get Bielsa for a season or two so he lay down his philosophy and then get this man to come and take over like he did at Chile. We need a long term option. Bielsa has had mixed success on the international level but I think his achievements at club level have been poor. He seems to last a year or two then quit/resign/get sacked. No point going for him or even Sampaoli, who speaks no English and has very little success at club level too. The next move has got to be 100% right, no more AVBs or Di Matteos.
