The Next Manager?

Recommended Posts

You know what I really hate about Twitter? The bullshit of the one word sentence at the end of the tweet.

For instance:

'Messi just scored 5 goals against no-name Spanish team 23. Class.'

I don't know why but it fucking boils my shit.

I hate that too, it's so lame and boring. Useless.

It doesn't have to be a certain manager to change things. It's about the club's philosophy. The best example is Barcelona. They have a philosophy. All of their teams, even the youngest team of their academy, they all play in the same system. That's how they prepare their youth for the big team. We need a philosophy, we need to have a constant idea of football and stick to it. And the manager is not the answer. The manager can't give you stability in modern football. It's not about that anymore. If you have a philosophy, then you can afford replacing the manager once in a while (look at Bayern, Barca, Real) and still be successful. But if you only count on "hey, let's put this guy here and expect him to build an empire", it's not gonna work ON LONG TERM. There will never be another Sir Alex because football has changed. Completely.

I agree. I think that whoever is appointed the next manager will merely be a sign as to whether the board agree too and look at themselves.

Well, Chelsea youth team plays attractive, possession based football for 5-10 years now. They always want to play in style and are putting that thoughts ahead of the results as Academy director says.

Chelsea board want the club to play certain way. They bought players for it. They failed delivering the right man though. But even Jose after he came back a huge chunk of his interview spend on saying how Chelsea has to play in certain way with youth coming through. I think we only needed an inspiration person to take us that one step further. For now we have to recover though. But you really can't say that Chelsea has no philosophy when youth team from U8 team to U21 plays the same way. U18 or U21 coaches say that they have no problem integrating upcoming players to the elder team as they are used to very much the same.

Diego Simeone is #Chelsea's first choice to take over for the 2016-17 season and Roman Abramovich will go all-out to get his man. [Mirror]

#Chelsea will need to bow to Diego Simeone's demands, which will likely entail bringing his tightly-knit team with him. [Mirror]

If Chelsea ever decide to truly integrate youth players, it will be a process. Including some dry spells in terms of trophies. They've just put it off constantly and delivered lovely empty words to the fans.

I always point to Bayern. They weren't a force in Europe in the 00s after their CL win and were no longer the dominant force in Germany. But they've been reaping the awards of their labour the past five years.
