Depends on who you buy.

I'm not as enamoured as some on here by Wirtz. And outside of that they have a squad that is growing older as far as their mainstay players.

Wirtz reminds me of Hazard. If he performs like Eden it would be a disaster for non Liverpool fans, so I really hope that you are right not to be enamoured.

Because Maresca refused to play him and instead opted to put Gusto out of position, he also took a dig at Maresca when he joined Juventus.

Um, he demanded to be a guaranteed starter and Maresca told him the same as he tells everyone: there are no guaranteed starters, you fight and win the spot if you're the best.

He failed to do that in his time here (he wanted Colwill's spot), gave up and moved on.

At the time I can see why he was frustrated as Colwill has been a huge liability for about 90% of his career with us but he might finally be starting to shape up now so it would be a big decision to push him out just to give Veiga a spot, well rated as he is... Colwill is also super highly rated and loads of clubs would be in for him if we had him available in the market.

I don't recall Veiga playing at CB other than those early conference league games where half the squad was rotated.

He was primarily used as backup LB and DM as required.

I think he was more frustrated at not being given any chances at CB...

Get it done faster so we can move fast for Simons and Hato.

So basically we may end up with Palmer, Simons, Nkunku (if he can't be sold), that Brazilian wonderkid all keen on being #10's  😆

If we are going after that sort of player, why not put in an offer for Eze?    At least he is PL proven.

Liverpool are just spending for fun. As much as some might be envious of them, that's how you stay on top rather than resting our your laurels.

Still gives me flashbacks of our last league title under Conte, where he demanded real investment and got nothing.

And they've kept their main players as well. Think be theirs again next season

Jacksons reps have been contacted by Manchester United

I'll say it here. I'm more then happy to see Jackson go over nkunku.

If nkunku don't go I predict he will surprise us this season. We might see the nkunku we have all been waiting for.

Nkunku has been like playing with 10 men when he is on. Every now and then he has a moment, but aside from that - he is invisible.

Wonder how Klopp feels watching Liverpool finally spending like this after years and years of him being given a shoestring budget whilst trying to go toe to toe with free spending Pep and City for all those titles. He could’ve won 2-3 more PL titles if he had this sort of backing.

Hard to see how they don’t repeat as champions this season unless this is just too much change too fast. Crazy to win the league at a canter and then change half the starting XI like this.

Having made it to three CL finals and lost twice due to his available alternatives, I'm sure he's grinning while grimacing. For how long was Origi used as a backup CF?

Everything seemed to indicate that the owners wanted to cash in a while back to then end up making this outlay. It's difficult to imagine them not adding more trophies this season if they do obtain Isak as well.

Wirtz is what Havertz was for us a few seasons ago. A potential WC player that would make any team better. If they somehow actually add Isak to the mix, they are addressing their major issues. Also, I don't think enough is being made of their GK signing from last year, Mamardashvili. Having a backup that can actually fill the void when Allison isn't available (becoming more of a regular thing) could help them massively was the worse to happen.

In regard to their key players, if Salah can reach even reach half of his tally from last season (hard to see given the providers they've added, but there's the AFCON) and VVD is solid again, this will be a non-issue.

That's it. This sort of business would have been expected had Salah & VVD left. They immediately replaced TAA, had a goalkeeper lined up from last year, and have improved on areas they've been lacking.

they lost jota (rip), arnold and probably diaz

besides wirtz, IDK if they are really upgrade what they were last season

Think both fullbacks will be serious upgrades. Trent is capable of magical moments when attacking but is terrible defensively and Liverpool fans say he basically quit halfway through last season and had his head in Madrid. So if Frimpong can defend even a little bit I don’t think they miss him. And Kerkez should be a massive upgrade on the left side.

Ekitike is the big gamble for them out of all their signings. But with the other crazy good attackers he’s going to be surrounded by the pressure for him to put up big numbers isn’t going to be there.

if they lose konate to Real, I think they will depend again of salah performance
