Ooof lol

Looks like a blooper reel. How does a striker get to this level with such poor heading ability?

Some strikers can make up for any lack in heading ability with other skills, ala Thierry Henry.

But I guess that's where the question mark comes with regards to Gyokeres. What are the other tools he has in his locker to overcome PL defenses in these kind of situations.

Don’t get me wrong, it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me. It’s just strange. Especially for a guy like Gyokeres who is a massively powerful guy.

Yes but Henry was one of this generations best players who could do virtually anything 🤣

Where as Gyokeres scores a bulk of goals having run 25-30m virtually unopposed onto a long ball or goals in which the standard of defending is absolutely diabolical to the point I reckon Jackson would score 30-40 goals in Portugal in that Sporting team. Look at Darwin Nunez & Jackson Martinez in the past also.

If no big club gets a deal for him done in the first 1-2 weeks of the window that will tell everyone exactly what they the big clubs really think of him.

There should have been 10 goals from that… he scored 1.

I just don’t see the sure fire thing that some here are saying.
He had an average scoring record in the Championship. Now he’s hit a stride in an average league - and I’ve heard much more hype for the winger we’ve signed than Gyökeres from people who know the league.

I think he’s decent enough but not worth the money and wages over the other targets.

It is strange that nobody has gone in for him yet considering how desperate a few clubs are for a striker.

There's good hold-up play and a range of finishes in this compilation. Realized he's right footed only when I watched the penalty he took. He's got a good left foot. Useful weapon and hopefully can play against low blocks and not just in transition

Impressive. Reminds me of Harry Kane but faster than Kane. But very similar attributes. Both like to drop deep, both like to back in defender and make turns. Both like to shoot from distance and have good striking ability and also looks good at bringing other players into play.

There are 2 more (both very hard pulls) as well:

Isak

Lautaro

Plus maybe Šeško.

Sesko im not a fan of.

Hes like Ibra without the touch and finishing around goal. Great athlete though.

I'd be shocked if Gyokeres chose us over Arsenal.

Arsenal's first choice (only 2 CFs on the planet they would take over him are Håland and Isak, plus if you count him as a CF, Mbappe) is Julian Alvarez. Gyökeres rounds out the 5. They also would probably take Lautaro as 6th.

It's been discussed wheter we should buy Sancho, sell Madueke, but didn't see anyone mention the possibility of offloading Neto. Are you all happy with him? I feel Jadon, Noni, Palmer and hopefully Estevao all have something to offer that other players cannot. Neto's skillset is too simple, no end product, no good against solid defence. He is 25, a player who makes a living with his pace but has a solid injury history, I don't feel his ceiling is any more higher.

Well this season, he has been quite solid with his fitness. Missed a brief spell in November for around 2-3 games, no more. Other than that has been injury free this season.

Don’t know why this Julian Alvarez stuff is even given a second thought. He just moved to Atleti a year ago for nearly 100m. He’s now their best attacker and as a Spanish speaker is probably loving life in Spain. Why on earth would he leave there so soon for one, and why would Atleti even consider selling him? And if they ever did surely it would have to be well north of £100m.

True. This was the only pleasant surprise about him though.

Alverez is being mentioned more as a attacker that would warrant a big fee and not be as risky rather than a possibility. Isak is in the same category.
