Could be wrong but honestly would be REALLY surprised.
Fernando 6,723
At the end solid window as well. I think in January we will get rid of more players that we couldn't get rid of now. Unless of course Saudi comes with some offers for our player in the next couple of days. Other then that happy with what we done especially after last season. Thor 2,817
All throughout last season it was constantly "once we get this guy, we'll be back amongst the top". Same thing is happening now that we've had a few injuries. I'm sorry - but winning games against bottom of the ladder teams being dependent on Nkunku playing or not is not the signs of a top team. We have the talent. We do. People think these players are suddenly shit or not good enough... No. We suffer from a lethargy/confidence issue. That will take time. It isn't about "just one more player". Fernando and Vesper

NikkiCFC 8,516
Yeah, it doesn't make sense to loan him to better team if he cannot even play here. We should loan him to team below our level if you can find one.

It isn't about "just one more player". It's not just about talent. It's about experience. Because of the lack of it, a team like this will blow hot and cold. When it clicks, it can be fantastic, but it can also easily churn up embarrassing results like this. Then there's the mentality. If the team goes on a losing run, we could be in for a repeat of last season., because there aren't enough leaders on the pitch to take control of the game. Ironically in today's game, one of the few leaders we have in Silva was also embarrassed for the goal we conceded. Hopefully Poch can arrest this slide after the international break., with a couple of more players potentially returning from injury.
Blue Armour 4,710
Lifted this off another forum, but can't help but feel it's applicable here.Their cavalier approach to tearing down and rebuilding the squad (and the club for that matter), is what has led us here. Maybe given more time, it will pay off, but who knows what that means for success on the pitch. My suspicion is that they are trying to run Chelsea the same way they ran the Dodgers. In the first couple of years under Boehly, the Dodgers invested wildly and unsustainably into their team, were hit with financial penalties, paid them, and won the World Series. Move fast and break things. In baseball, a much more individualistic sport than football, high levels of squad churn doesn't really matter if you're fielding better pitchers and better hitters than you had last year. Team chemistry and tactics are much less important than the raw ability of the players. In football, not so much. Change was definitely needed, it's just a shame that we had to wait until the opening week of the season to sign the midfielders that we wanted so badly. Like what happened to getting your business done early and allowing the new players a chance to settle down and integrate with the rest of the first XI? Caicedo looks like he's going through pre-season now and who knows how long it'll take Lavia, Badiashile, Broja to find their feet in the first team again. I see some heavy score lines coming up if he doesn't figure it out as Arsenal, Brentford, City, Brighton and United have the tools to score 3+ goals against us and Spurs under Ange look like they're on fire at the moment with so much energy. bigbluewillie
