Could still easily end up going the 'Bakayoko' route that Monaco just chooses not to play him in order to avoid the purchase obligation. But at least that's one less deadwood to clear out for now. Jype 6,398
"New Chelsea owner Tod Boehly personally called Frenkie de Jong several days ago. The Dutchman listened and reiterated his desire to fulfill his contract with Barça. Despite the no, Chelsea keep trying." I don't get why both United and Chelsea seem so insistent on going after this guy when it's always been clear his heart is in Barcelona and he's desperate to stay there even though they continue to treat him like shit. We saw first hand how quickly it turned sour with Lukaku who hadn't wanted to leave Inter in the first place so do we really want to see if we can make it happen again with another player who's reluctant to sign? Frenkie might be a lot more talented as a footballer than Lukaku but if the attitude is not right to begin with he will never reach his best level and even some minor setbacks can quickly snowball into a big problem. Last Sicarius 610
If Frenkie wants stay we should leave it. 80mln for player who dont want to leave is to high. We seen how it ended with similar case like Lukaku.

I don't buy for one second that Lukaku didn't want to leave Inter, he was happy as larry in his early games and interviews. This shit with him started when he realized he had a fight on for his place instead of having it handed to him. As soon as he's dropped for Dzeko (Inzaghi's style is possession based so he won't last the season as a starter) his "love" for Inter will disappear into the night aswell. Clockwork 1,794
Makes no sense to pay 85m on CB to play in a system that overlay protects them. If Tuchel going to play with 5 defenders and 2 DMs, seems very pointless.

There's a difference between being defensive and defending well. Boycie

They need however be really quick, able to carry the ball, calmunder pressure and make no stupid mistakes. For attackers however we nee dplayers who are used to playing in defensive setups and creating tings on thier own. This is why Sterling and Kai (will) struggle and guys like Chiesa and Neto are on our radar. Edited August 8, 2022 by Magic Lamps
