Chelsea Transfers

I advocated for Ronaldo last summer, because he is everything what pro Lukaku fans thought he would be. I would take Ronaldo if it makes financial sense, he is going to score 20+ league goals. Our team has much more work rate and runners on this team than United.

De Ligt has chosen Chelsea and the Premier League, he wants to leave Juventus, who have turned down two offers from Chelsea, but they are expecting a new proposal from the Blues in the next few hours. {La Repubblica} 🔵

Feels like De Ligt is the one target that we need to be quickest about. As in before we give City a bunch of money or United miss out on that dude from Ajax and turn their attention to De Ligt.

He may not be the best player we sign this summer but he is probably the most important if we pull it off. Could anchor our defensive unit for a decade.

Barca literally an example of a team who just splashes money with no forward thinking. Like a kid who wants all his toys now. They want Raphinha, Dembele (to sign on), want Lewandowski. In January they signed Aubameyang, who whilst taking a pay cut, is still on huge wages. Signed Torres in January for what £55m? Signed Depay last summer who had a mixed season but defo will improve you imagine. Signed Traore on loan with view to permanent transfer but seems they won't pursue that.

So you sign Lewandowski and then do what with Aubameyang? Keep him on bench or shift him out LW like he was doing at Arsenal? Then what about Ansu Fati who signed a big contract too? Them doing this while they have been racked up in debts? Also, yes they got this massive cash injection but just seems ridiculous wages and money they keep spending out.

Yep. Like I said yesterday, I bet you anything that within the couple of years they’re going to be in deep shit once again. But next time instead of being forced to let go of Messi they’ll have to sell off they’re prized jewel youngsters.

They’re one of, if not the worst transfer market club in the world.

Also the waythey handled that cash injection was just plain stupid. They sell off a fraction of their TV rights, which means less cashflow in the future. Then instead of investing in theclubs infrastrcuture and future, they spend it on player around or after their peak years to replace of which they already got a ton blocking their youngsters , as you said, who will now run down their contracts. All ofr a bit of short term success which is far from guaranteed given there are still huge holes in their team.

Bet you they won’t even have short term success either. Real Madrid will own LaLiga for the foreseeable future with the side they’ve assembled. Barca won’t touch them next season even with Lewa up top. And their defense and midfield are far too weak to do serious damage in the CL.

They’re basically just doing all of this to appease their supporters with shiny toys.
