Rodrygo on the bench for a fifth game tonight, Arsenal pushing for Noni, we must surely try

That’s what I’m thinking. It’s why I want Arse to hurry up and sign Noni. If they want Noni & Eze surely they can’t then afford Rodrygo too.

I wonder if we should go after him with us selling Maduke....

Nah, I’m over Kudus. We need a natural LW rather than a #10/second striker type now that Pedro is signed.

Madueke and Petrovic money would pay for Hato and a quality starting keeper. Then we at most might need a quality starting RCB (although we do have plenty of options there already)

Then just outgoings for me. We need 3 options at every position but no way we'll keep 36 players in squad so good that we go for players that can play multiple positions and always have cobham for a crisis.

Benfica are preparing to bid €20million to Chelsea for João Félix.

😵😴

Cheap Kuntz still probably haven't spent the money we gave them for Matic let alone Luiz or Enzo.

Should be a player added for that fee.

We may not be buying anyone until we satisfy the UEFA conditions to register new players for Champions League. I think we need to be 50M more pounds in the profit. I'm sure we will have a few more incomings, but it might not be before we get ahead of the profit margin for player sales. The CWC money does not apply, it must be player sales.

The Arse fan meltdown over Madueke is historic. I’ve never seen that fanbase this apoplectic about a potential signing. 🤣🤣🤣

I cannot even imagine what will happen if we go out and replace Noni with someone better.

We will have the same meltdown if it someone like Garnacho.

Ðorđe Petrović: Bournemouth have persuaded him as the Strasbourg option is off the table. Sunderland will rue quibbling over the pricetag. Should get done.

Wait, so Bournemouth rejected a 5 million clause to keep Kepa, only to go and sign Petrovic?

Kiano Dyer: A lot of clubs across Europe would like to sign Dyer who feels his opportunity at Chelsea will not come. Likely to leave and will be a big loss.

This is a shame, Dyer is a proper midfield talent.  I just hope he doesn't walk to another PL club like Liverpool.

why??

The prize money from the Club World Cup will not directly allow Chelsea to register new players for the Champions League. While the prize money is a significant sum, it is separate from the funds needed to comply with UEFA's financial regulations regarding player registration. Chelsea needs to generate more than £60 million through player sales to register their new signings for the Champions League, due to a breach of UEFA's financial rules.

Here's why:

UEFA's Financial Fair Play (FFP) Regulations:

UEFA has financial regulations, including a "List A transfer balance" requirement, which means that any spending on new players for the Champions League must be covered by the income from player sales.

Chelsea's Breach:

Chelsea has been fined by UEFA for breaching these regulations and has agreed to a sporting restriction that prevents them from registering new players unless they have a positive transfer balance, according to the BBC.

"List A" Restriction:

"List A" refers to the squad that Chelsea submitted to UEFA for the Champions League. New signings and players like Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana, who were injured or not registered last season, need to be added to this list, and their costs must be offset by player sales.

Club World Cup Prize Money:

The prize money earned from the Club World Cup is considered separate revenue and cannot be used to offset the required positive transfer balance for player registration.

Focus on Player Sales:

Chelsea needs to actively sell players to raise the necessary funds to comply with UEFA's regulations and register their new signings.

We went a bit crazy with some of the transfer fees....makes sense that UEFA would try to use Chelsea as an example.

Looks like Roma had similar issues in the past, a detailed forum about that can be found here (apologies to the moderators if Reddit links aren't allowed):
