so now it appears we see Olise as more of a RWer than an AMF

a straight Ziyech replacement

I am still very wary of that bad hamstring tear

and also

Kudus can play RW too

Kudus just seems more of an explosive athlete, plus scores more goals

most games (including the WC) I watched him he looked a true threat

Fmpov Kudus > Olise > Cherki. I am beginning to think Kudus is a more important target than Caicedo because we need goals more than we need Caicedo IMO, an athletic, boundless-energy, ball winning DM partnering Enzo is what we need and Caicedo would be the perfect option but there are others that would be more than enough to get us top 4 IMO, but we are still potentially light on goals which Kudus can fix (Jackson, Mudryk, Nkunku and Kudus if you imagine they fulfil their potential then it is not just top 4 but title contention for years).

About Tchou coming for less than 100m, because Real needs money for Mbappe

of course they need the money

they are subject to FFP just like everyone else, and Mbappe's total cost for Real will likely be (for 5 years) well over €300m (easily could be much more, if he is paid anything near Messi money it's over €400m) if they have to pay a monster transfer fee now

those numbers are conservative compared to the Saudi offer (€300m transfer fee and €200m per year salary, IF it was for 2 years, they said they will pay him a €100m signing bonus, so total 2 years cost of €800m, €1 billion if 3 years, which is drop in the bucket for them as they have what is likely closing in on to 2 TRILLION usd backstopping them)

Real have other needs as well and are also going to (I have always said Håland ends up at Real) go for Håland in summer 2024 (perhaps) or summer 2025 (very likely)

No way. Caicedo completes are midfield. Santos and Casadei as cover brings that injection of quality as well.

Even if you get Caicedo that is not enough .

For 6 months you sell  6 midfielders and eventually Gallagher too .   In addition to Caicedo, you will need at least 1 more elite  DM  if you want to competitive anyone .

If you don't want to, you will play with Santos and Casadei, who are talented players, but you can't oppose  KDB , Fernandes , Guimaraes , Odeegard  with them .

they would sell are Sterling, Kepa, Lukaku, Ziyech...

not seeing calls to sell Kepa, just calls for a better keeper to make Kepa the backup

as for the other 3

they are all mega busts

£260m in transfer fees for the 4

plus crazy salaries

Funny and ironic this talk from our fans how we need experienced players yet they couldn't wait to get rid of Mendy, KK, Auba, Azpi, Jorginho etc... And now first one they would sell are Sterling, Kepa, Lukaku, Ziyech...

being old isn’t a benefit in of itself. What valuable experience does lukaku bring ? Track record of failure

I agree they all should go, but I'm not the one saying we need experienced players.

There is supposed investigation due to St Maximin being too expensive at 35 million that raises possibility of Newcastle paying themselves via Saudis. Wonder if this possible 300 million of free FFP money for FFP respecting, oil money PSG will grab anyone's attention. Let me guess…

if Tchou would be available for less than 100m there would be many teams interested in him.

We don't need any experience, we need quality players that's it.

We need both. We've seen our reasonably quality yet young players shitting their pants in CL games or getting carded like rookies by more experienced players. We need some mentors to lead the kids (and make them not want too much if needed).

newcastle get top4 without experience players

Not true. Trippier, Schär,  Wilson,  Pope, Almiron. Their team is mostly proven PL veterans. Average age 27. Surely more experienced in than what we have rn.

just noticed they signed Harvey Barnes. Wtf I thought he had gone to westham. Great signing tho.

Btw, in addition to being extremely slow with incoming transfers, don’t forget that we STILL don’t have a front of shirt or sleeve sponsor. One of the biggest clubs in world football and we appear to be trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel all over the place to find anyone who will sponsor us. 🤦‍♂️

Feels like there’s something not quite right going on specifically on the incoming business side of the club. We can sell players just brilliantly but suddenly struggle to buy them. Caicedo I at least understand since Brighton are an absolute bastard to deal with. But why have we not pushed ahead with our other, much more straightforward targets?
