Wonder if the true reason he’s so adamant that he wants to leave for a direct rival will ever come to light. Or if he’ll just keep it private and say the usual, generic “I just wanted a fresh start” bullshit once he’s holding up that United shirt.

I think his agent overplayed his hand in negotiations and this is their idea of saving face. If it is £200k per week, it will forever change Mount’s legacy at Chelsea. Even Mount fan boys will stop defending him.

Makes u wonder what geniuses we had under Abramowitch when we signed Drinkwater and Bakayoko for 80m.

True.

The clamouring for Bakayoko on here was crazy too. Numerous comparisons to Yaya Toure, ‘he will be our midfield general for years’ etc etc…. he was the least impressive and interesting player from that Monaco team too. Fucking insane.

Fofana kind of falls into the same category as the usual loan army signing from the previous ownership. Wasn’t given a chance last season so the likelihood was he was probably always going to end up being cut with the clubs dire need for selling players and a more experienced CF considering Armando is back up and running for pre-season coming around.

I mean if DDF played last season and made an impression, I would of understood the signing but he didn’t. At all. Was that Brighton transfer genius that recommended him too.

Again not surprised. His mind has been made up for months, probably hasn’t helped that a certain % of the fan base seem to have turned on him. Not to mention all the reports of the numerous changes around the club, mainly staff, which had affected/left some individuals disillusioned. Could he be one of them? Or did he feel the club dicked around too much to offer him favourable terms? Who knows.

Fresh start probably do him the world of good anyway. He went from future Chelsea legend to a money grabbing cunt because he wouldn’t sign a 7 year deal or whatever it was he was originally offered. Or so you’d think reading half the nonsense spouted on here at the time.

People above already mentioning money as well - point proven.

We are going to replace him with hopefully with someone like Wirtz or Szoboszlai

Either would be great. But I thought Bayern already had their usual tap up tactics going with Wirtz like they do with every German super talent. Feels like a nailed on Bayern signing at some point.

Well, it seems pretty easy: He wants money, He wants admiration, He wants to be a star. And do not want to stay at the club that is a mess and may as well turn into Tottenham or worse. Pretty much it's his career/life at stake, so while morally disgusting, can't really blame the guy, those are free people.

Lol you guys act like Fofana was a huge investment or significant, it didn’t work out and we are swiftly moving on. We will recoup some of the money.

Buy some unknown guy from nowhere -> introduce him as "most exciting talent of young generation" -> refuse to loan him out but also refuse to play him -> He had "not impressed". The Chelsea Way ®

One bad season is not a mess.

David Datro Fofana will likely be sold, says Simon Phillips. Has not impressed.

Sorry to hear he is apparently a bust.

Oh well.

I saw that but who are the coaches he's not impressed when Poch hasnt taken a training session yet? The ones that aren't here anymore because of their ineptitude..atleast loan him out for a season first..
