So is Strasbourg going to be our Vitesse basically? A place where we can send a bunch of our young players to get experience at a high level?

Think of Strasbourg as our feeder club, the will be buying the Santos or Cacadai type players, instead of Chelsea buying them sent on loan, they will go straight to Strasbourg.

‘Exciting stuff quite frankly.

If Inter are THAT bad off financially why are we not going SUPER hard at Barella? And even Onana?

If Milan can be forced to sell their life long Milan fan golden boy Tonali because they need the money then surely Inter aren’t in a position to say no to a huge offer for their midfielder?

Inter wanted to play on our desperation and the fact that we spent a lot of money last year.

I believe that if it was last year we would have spent a lot of money on onana, but now that it is no longer just todd making decisions we already see different decisions.

that's why they wanted lukaku's loan plus 80 million for onana.
they want to make us look like donkeys

Literally one of the last acts of the Roman reign was failing to convince two key defenders to stay.

Rudiger sealed his departure after Roman's days were numbered and the club was sanctioned. Same with Christenesen.

It was Marinas fault for letting it drag out, but the turmoil around the club nailed it.

I think Rudi's departure was inevitable much like Hazard's. He reached his against-the-odds peak under TT, had once in lifetime chance to capitalize on it and, as you say, Roman's situation only sealed it.

If we consider Christensen "key defender" it only emphasize inability of Marina's board to sort out defense situation FOR YEARS back then

PAOK want to re-sign Baba Rahman but Chelsea need to cancel his contract as they did with Bakayoko. That takes negotiation and money.

Via Nizaar Kinsella

Valencia have set a €25m asking price for Giorgi Mamardashvili. (Relevo)

The 22-year-old has attracted plenty of interest, and Los Che expect him to depart this summer.

Chelsea Buy this Man

It's a pity Chelsea are not linked to M.Olise, who would have an exit clause of 37m and would be great for OM/RA.

I have lost hope we will be able to arrange any satellite club deal before start of next season…

It is reported that he currently prefers Arsenal move. Interestingly earlier, bookies made him favourite to join City, however now they have put Arsenal front of queue again...

Is that really all that surprising?

He could be guaranteed starter for Arsenal, possibly captain sooner or later (they're more than happy to listen to offers for Partey and even Xhaka has a move to Bundesliga)  or he could be a rotation option with Pep and be there for the trophy collection.

Think you're forgetting that Christensen declined the 5 year offer from the club...

It remains to be seen just what sort of relationships may be developed over the long term but I would assume the multi club setup that looks to be created will operate in similar manners to the Red Bull group given that Boehly/Clearlake took a keen liking to that setup this time last year.

The easy thing to look at is farming players out on loan to these clubs but if done correctly, it should be far more than that.

It's already been discussed in media pieces that the multi club model will operate with data sharing. This could be a massive positive for a club like Strasbourg, or Rio Ave in Portugal who have also been discussed. Being able to access data, whether it's scouting, medical, coaching, etc that is likely to be amongst the best funded in world football should help in the long term to find these clubs an edge and establish themselves further.

Ultimately you want these clubs to kick on and becoming bigger and more competitive as this will allow themselves to attract better calibre of players, particularly younger players who need a platform at a competitive league to develop before what should be considered their 'big' move. Ultimately if it's anything like Red Bull, in this situation we should be first in queue for any of their best players at a reasonable, competitive price. Given French clubs are usually a good proving ground for young, African talent, and likewise Portuguese clubs with South American talent, the first two clubs we look like adding to this structure should in theory be solid additions which can hoover up a lot of young talent across two continents that are almost impossible for English clubs to buy directly from due to work permit regulations.

Pep doesn't go in for players at the standard of Rice for a laugh, there will be a clear plan for what he wants.

He will probably mould him into a centre back

no, he will be a MFer, probably that new Stones role

or he will spell Rodri

of some sort of double pivot
