Both the club themselves and the media have played the “poor little Arsenal who cannot compete with the other rich clubs” card for 20 years now. They have been seen as “pure” by everyone for not spending big and they acted all high and mighty.

Now they’re going to get Rice, Lavia, Timber, and Havertz for a combined over £200m in a single window. And that’s perhaps not everyone they’ll buy. So NEVER again can Arse supporters and Arse media complain about Chelsea/City/United “buying the league.” That’s literally what they’re trying to do now.

They've been doing that for years. Remember the fees and wages that Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette and many others were on.

They spent a combined 80m or something on Ramsdale and White, another 70 on Jesus and Zinchenko. 

The difference between us and them is that their moves were never marketed by the media as bombastic ones.
