Caicedo to NUFC would be disastrous for us

he and Bruno as a pivot, eeeeeeeeeeeeeek

that is literally, if Enzo and Bellingham are off the board,

my two MFer buy combo above all others atm

same if he goes to Pool, as their MF is a partial mess atm

I guess it's between Caicedo and Lavia..

I dont give a toss about what anyone would say

literally do not give a fuck

he is a Russian teenager

he is not some Putin warmonger or enabler

I leave condemning people based off ethnic origin to the Nazis and the KKK

Off course this guy is victim of his country rulers, no doubt and he himself is not a problem here - it would even be good to pull him away from there, transferring millions to Russia and Russian club is. But it's whole world's issue and it's not matter of sport - sanctions on one hand and still doing *some* business on other. Again, I guess it depends on particular countries and where they are on map and in history, but I'm quite sure in eastern Europe and USA (so probably more important to TB) this will be seen as a scandal. And given what USA does I have no problem imagining TB getting into hot water for this and he surely doesn't need it.

I'm actually quite surprised no one here considers this perspective.

I think Lavia has a lot more upside, I'd just like to see him continue the rest of this season at Southampton. If they go down I think he'd be half the cost of Caicedo.

As much as its tempting to buy a midfielder in this window, I really don't want us to cock it up in a panic. If the right player isn't available until the summer, then we need to bide our time. Hopefully the move for Nkunku would suggest there is the start of a shift to that thinking in being prepared to wait for a main target.

I am also interested to see what Kante we get back when he's fit. Feel that this surgery may have been something he's needed as a more long term fix. I don't expect him to be someone you can rely on game in game out but if we are going to agree a new contract with him and he can come back to full fitness and managed properly, he could still play a big role here and possibly changes the complexion a little bit of what we want the midfield makeup to be (i.e. I see Caicedo as probably the closest profile and alternative to him. If Kante does return, is Caicedo as needed and could we possibly look at alternative profiles in the midfield)

If Rice signs for Arsenal, they will not fall out of the top 4. You have city and probably united there. One spot left and whoever has the best midfield gets it. We need TWO starting midfielders - Rice and Enzo would be criminally good pivot. Disagree at your own peril!

Are RM fans really not liking Rudiger?

Tbf just a daft Chelsea twitter account probably making an accusation with no real substance. Plus they just got beat off Barca so emotions will be high.

Out of curiosity, just say either this window or in the summer we buy a centre midfielder and replace Dave at right back but only then do one more move, what would everyone want? Let's assume Felix goes back in the summer but Nkunku joins.

I think looking at the makeup of our squad it's either a striker or a goalkeeper.

I think we need two CMs, one more of Kante characteristic and one to replace Fabregas (oh wait). With efficient midfield, I think Felix, Sterling and Havertz (and Mudryk?) can produce and if we won't go strikerless, there's still DDA and Broja on Books (and Rom)(and Nkuku?). Our GK should also do decent enough with solid defense - I feel they lack consistency more than skill. Kepa actually improved a lot of aspects of his play, just not quite decision-making and what is up with Mendy we will see.

Think both CMs we sign need to be able to pass/play their way out of a press. The idea of a holding mid and a playmaking mid is very 2000s

The site is still alive in the age of apps, social media and phones, 2023. One might think that browser-based forums could go the way to BBS/IRC. Good to see people are still here.

More in ASAP: CM, CF

summer: Enzo? RB?

out ASAP: Pulisic and some of our midfielders (eg. Jorginho). probably Khoulibaly too. probably Ziyech, but maybe Potter helps turn it around for him(?)

Has anyone noticed how we've agitated news outlets in the UK?

Sky on youtube is constantly posting stuff about our spending, almost every other day. Just recently they posted a list of the top 5 spenders this season., and made sure to highlight Chelsea at number 1. No mention about the number of players we have out injured. But transfer fees? Oh yes.
