Chelsea are reportedly interested in a potential move for Real Valladolid youngster Ivan Fresneda.

Fresneda, who’s just 18, is a talented right-back that’s starting to attract a lot of interest.

The full-back has made just 11 senior appearances to date, but an eye-catching performance against Real Madrid last week has helped enhance his growing reputation.

He was excellent last Friday when defending in direct competition against Madrid’s superstar left-winger Vinicius Junior.

Fresneda was given a 7:06 match rating after making eight tackles, three clearances and two interceptions (WhoScored).

According to 90min, Fresneda is now wanted by a host of top sides across Europe.

It is understood that Premier League teams Chelsea, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United are all considering approaches for the young defender.

Also, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have set sights on the Spaniard.

The report claims that Valladolid may be prepared to cash in on their prized asset and sell him for around €20million (£18million).

A lot of Chelsea fans are campaigning for the club to sign a new right-back this January.

With Reece James currently out injured, combined with repeated knee problems, the Blues need better full-back cover.

The Daily Mail recently claimed Chelsea are keen to accelerate their interest in Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic.

However, Fresneda is a really exciting youngster to now emerge on the radar, who does fit the kind of profile the club have been investing in.

He is good defensively and looked great vs Vini but Fresneda has never scored it assisted a goal on any senior level ever in his life. He would help us 0 atm.

He's 18 and has an upward trajectory. 

We need a player at RB that is good defensively, technical, and can play some progressive passes.

Can't make the stuff up, piecing together this BS, TB had "disrespected" and offended Benfica on at least three occasions, negotiations broke multiple times, some people went crying to media how offended they are, we should get on our knees to even ask for opportunity to overpay for Enzo, YET offended and disrespected Benfica, who has zero intent to sell, and "don't need to" are still open for negotiation (lol) and are pulling the player from squad to talk further?

Yeah, so either people there are lunatics or people believing this are lunatics, as apparently big chunk of our fans is way more butthurt and offended by fact of holding negotiations, than actual Benfica. That's what Twitter buzz is worth.

And just chill, the 120 million asking price already includes good 40 million of overpay, so don't worry for those guys… Don't know what kind of group madness is working here and who started it, but somehow every analysis, more or less professional portrays Enzo with tame enthusiasm, saying he is interesting in Portugese league and worth to watch, but lacking and still far from done, however somehow TalkChelsea board has zero doubts it's an unquestionable football god, worth every sum of money. Like seriously, there is a very high horse to fall from.

Are you referring to the situation where Arsenal bid a certain amount + £1 because they believed that was the requirement of a buy out clause? I've never understood what it is they were supposed to have done wrong there. If they were told, presumably by the player's agent, that their bid would meet all the conditions to trigger the clause, then why on Earth would they bid more? It's not Arsenal's fault that the agent hadn't negotiated as solid a buy out as they thought. Although, since that situation, I'm sure clubs are less likely to just take an agent's word on such matters.

Dembele was not shopping around for the best deal he could get from the market last summer, as was speculated. Instead, he was using the speculation to help him secure the best deal he could get from Barcelona. He never really wanted to leave. I initially bit on the hope of getting a player I've always liked since first watching him when I was trying to check how Boga was progressing at Reims. It soon occurred to me however what Dembele was really doing.

Again a lot of revisionism around Rom - yeah, easy to judge now, but then… He may not be the brightest egg in the basket, but let's remember we were in as situation where getting an efficient striker was vital for our functioning and ending 5 years long suffering. Tuchel prioritized getting one to go any further perhaps. Problem was, there literally wasn't any available. Board could shrug this off or go all in. Lakakka was banging one after another in Inter, seemed motivated, got himself ripped, seemed to improve work ethics… on paper, it was not cheap, but not a ridiculous move. He turned out knobhead, that's a different story. However let's not forget the only other options was to get Icardi for the same money, or try to get Lewy or Benzema, yeah, good luck

Have to admit that I don't see €120m worth in the highlight videos but I'm biting my tongue because I didn't see the World Cup. When assessing a player though, it is necessary to judge the input, not the output. Just because a player does extraordinarily well, does not mean it's always an indication of extraordinary ability. Sometimes it really is just your day, your month, or your year.

Last season people were telling me that my prediction from five or six years ago that Connor did not look to be a Chelsea level player was wrong. Now, his name regularly appears on sell lists. I'm not saying that I have been proven right, Connor may still show that I missed something when he was a youth team player. It is clear however that some are now concluding last season may just have been great 'moment' for him, and not an indicator that he is a great player.

I think what I'm saying boils down to form is temporary, class is permanent. The €120m question is which is the case with Enzo, but I'm not in a position to answer that question.
