I don't think Bohley wants to continue the loan army for profit, also changes in how many loaned players a club can have.

Boehly already showed with Lukaku and Werner that he can be ruthless and take a financial hit to get rid of a flop, though it has to be said it's probably easier to do that when you're not the one who's bought them in the first place. Next we'll just need to see how Boehly does when the player in question is someone he's been involved in buying himself. But either way it makes sense to cut ties with the likes of Bakayoko, Batshuayi etc. if at all possible. It's been clear for a long time there just isn't a market for them to be sold. Marina kept extending their deals in hopes they'll eventually prove good enough somewhere that a buyer can be found but it just very rarely happened. Would need to see the full financial details of the loan deals (percentage of salary paid by the loan club and how big the loan fee was) to be certain of whether Marina's tactic was a good one or not. bigbluewillie and Strike 1

Who they've sold us for 40? I bet some teams love doing business with Chelsea. Anyway, Ajax only needs so much strength - their league is too small for them and Europe is too big. They need players to flip for profit and Ziyech is mostly spent in this matter, given he had lost over half of market value since he was sold. I don't think Bohley wants to continue the loan army for profit, also changes in how many loaned players a club can have. That portion of the loan army wasn't really the money making scheme but instead the only viable option to minimise damage of awful buys. We've had to do something similar this year with Lukaku. I think the club will want to still utilise the loan market for younger players because the market is there and whether it's through integrating players into our first team following a loan spell away, or increasing the value of players to be able to sell them after a successful loan spell, we've had a lot of success on this front in recent years. Colwill is a prime example of the new ownership I think still seeing value in this model. He hopefully comes back next season either a more polished player for our team or his value is even higher than previous to sell him. Doesn't always work out the right way but with the younger players on loan, I think we get things right more than we don't, especially for the better youngsters we have. bigbluewillie

Pizy 18,928
Now the report is that Ziyech will not only just be going to Ajax on loan, but that WE will be paying some of his wages. Wtf kind of terrible deal is that!? A new attacker is surely sealed now if we’ve let 4 attackers leave (Lukaku, Werner, CHO, Ziyech). didi007
