Tbf, we’re still superior to Arse at every position on the pitch other than striker.  I wouldn’t swap a single one of their best XI for one of ours. And our squad is much better as well.

It’s definitely true that this Auba deal is questionable but there just aren’t many options out there.

Maybe true,... but I was just thinking of us loaning out players like Colwill, Gilmour and sidelining Broja whilst going for seniors like Auba.

Anyway. We need at least one replacement for Werner/Lukaku. I suppose this is going to be it.

I am really not sold on Osimhen

his goal record is inferior to Tammy s and Lukaku in Serie A

he is overall more gifted technically but can go missing in games completely, heavily relies on good service. I only watched him in EL last season and in some big Serie A games and he was quite anonymous throughout.

Marcus Thurman has had a great start to the season. He is a great mix of skill, size and pace. Very inconsistent tho despite already being 25. He has been shifted to CF only recently and seems to be blossoming there. Is rumoured to join manure or milan. is cheap bc of contract running down.

You really think he’s a can’t miss kind of striker? I don’t see that personally. He isn’t a Haaland/Aguero/Lewa/Kane sort of level where I can see him coming to England and scoring 20 league goals.

He looks good but not incredible to me. And for £100m I’d want someone less risky after the Lukaku debacle.

Could you see Drogba or Costa doing it?

The money being thrown around nowadays should almost be a moot point at this point, unless it's a record fee. He's 23 (so far from his prime), has bettered his goal tally season on season & fits the profile of a CF we're after almost perfectly.

If you don't want risk, tell Boehly to drop £300m+ (fee alone) on Mbappe and we'll be sorted.

Did you happen to check games played?

He was three goals short of Abraham's Serie A tally, having played 10 games fewer.

Osimhen does. There's a reason he's been linked with a number of teams including Bayern.

assuming he stays at Napoli this year, next year I fully expect all or at least most of the following 10 teams to go hard for him

all are in the top 15 in terms of valuation, I cannot see any others outside that going for him (he will not go to NUFC, for instance)

the 5 not listed (Citeh, Pool, Spuds, Arse, Juve)  already have WC strikers

Inter is only listed due to the fact Lautaro MAY leave, if he and Donkeykaku stay, not a chance they move for Osimhen

(Real will surely will be looking for Benz's replacement for a couple years or so from now, same for crazy Barca with Lewa I wager)

in order of current side valuation

2      Paris Saint-Germain    France Ligue 1    €904.75m (unless Hugo Ekitiké instantly blows up this season, and still maybe even then)
4      Bayern Munich    Germany Bundesliga    €861.23m
5      Chelsea FC    England Premier League    €824.70m
6      FC Barcelona    Spain La Liga    €793.70m
7      Real Madrid    Spain La Liga    €786.50m
8      Manchester United    England Premier League    €748.80m
11    Atlético de Madrid    Spain La Liga    €665.50m
12    Inter Milan    Italy Serie A    €610.55m
13    AC Milan    Italy Serie A    €521.55m
15    Borussia Dortmund    Germany Bundesliga    €512.70m

5 goals, 2 assists in 4 games,

BUT

a huge qualifier

4 of those 7 (3 goals and an assist) came against a horrific 5th tier SV Oberachern side in a 9 1 Pokal destruction

True we should exclude that one

but apart from his goals his overall game has improved

i think he has been wasted all those years on the wings

but we apparently want an experienced PL proven goal scorer (again)

Out of all the strikers in the list I think he could be deemed as among the more likely to actually carry over their performance level to PL. the others being David and gouiri. Adeyemi, evanilson and kalajdzic I could see being huge busts here

our transfer drama with Barca summed up in song

Nelly (Barca) - Dilemma (Official Music Video) ft. Kelly Rowland (our targets) and her boo, NBA player Larry Hughes (Chels) with special guest appearance by Patti LaBelle (Boehly)

The moment I heard about Bayern's possible interest, I thought it would be a given for multiple reasons. The main stumbling block was probably Napoli's asking price, as Bayern aren't the type of club to spend big most of the time.

If I'm being honest, Bayern coming for Havertz next summer & for us to use that income on signing Osimhen would almost be the ideal scenario (Havertz having a 30GA+ season to end the doubts would be ideal).

Thought about Toney as well but at 26 he only has one top flight season (and 14 goals) under his belt. Would not be cheap given his contract till '25. But it is good we are pondering alternatives to PEA

I really like Ivan Toney. For a big classic front man he’s a fantastic footballer.

But he’s basically like a God for Brentford. There’s no chance they’d sell him and especially not so late in the window. I don’t think a club of their stature would be able to replace him with only 2 weeks left.

Send Borja on loan maybe…

He's not a big classic front man tho. He might be somewhat tall-ish but he is more of a mobile, agile, athletic presence than an old fashioned sturdy battering ram-style target man I would say.

I actually could imagine him fitting us well. just his last two games i thought he was really impressive. That run and first touch ass for the 4th goal vs Manure was brilliant and he was pressing them all game. Today he showed great coordination for both his goals, unfortunately just one counted.

I agree, I think he's a much better footballer than he's probably given credit for and his profile is a significantly better fit than Lukaku was.

I think the problem is the price. How much would Brentford want, perhaps even more so as local rivals. It would have to be upwards of £40-50m.

I think if we showed a legitimate interest, I do think he'd push to make the move. Pretty sure he's been caught a couple of times not speaking very positively of Brentford.

I think ultimately the difference with Aubameyang is if it doesn't work out, I think he is easier to absorb and bring another attacker in next summer. If Toney costs 3 or 4x as much he immediately becomes a big money signing. The risk if he flops is we're stuck with two very expensive failed strikers on the books and still searching for another.

The club would have to be very confident that Toney is "the guy" for likely the money it would cost and if they felt he was that then I'd assume we would have made a move for him much sooner in the window.

They could go in for Auba🤣
